Summary

"I lost myself a long time ago. I used to search. But, then I gave up. I didn't mind being lost." "Being lost sucks." "Well, you have me. I will find you." Shala laid there underneath the disgusting man emotionless. She was used to this. A new man every night stealing whatever innocence she had hidden away. The man grunted in pleasure placing a dirty hand over her mouth. She was tempted to bite the skin off but she knew well enough not to. The first couple of times Shala fought back earned her some broken bones. She wasn't even taken to the hospital they left her there after having their way with her broken and bruised body. The man groaned releasing into the condom that he was forced to put on by her mother. Her mother didn't want any chances of her getting pregnant which would more attention to them which Shala was grateful for. The man pulled his small limp dick out of her with a sigh. "Thank you, master." Shala was required to thank them and call them master when they cum. She didn't bother covering her body she laid there with a blank face staring up at the cracks in the ceiling. The man grunted in response pulling his pants up walking out of the room. Leaving her alone. Just like what she was used to.

The little girl was so happy to be finally turning seven years old, she had the biggest toothless smile glued to her face ever since her daddy woke her up with a vanilla cupcake, her favorite, and sang her happy birthday. He, then made her pancakes with chocolate chips and bacon on the side, after they finished eating he dropped her off at school with the promise of bringing her cupcakes to share with her friends.

After school was finished she arrived home from her friend’s parents dropping her off, she walked in the door to see the house decorated with pink table covers, cups, plates, balloons, and a huge ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ banner hanging above the stairs that led to her and her parent's room.

“Thank you! Oh, thank you so much, daddy! I love it!” She had told her dad once she saw everything. Her father smiled down at her with this sparkle in his eyes and felt all the love, joy, and happiness just seeing his little angel so happy, “you’re very much welcome, you know I’ll do anything just to keep this beautiful smile on my little angel’s face.” He had said.

The innocence that little girl had was just so refreshing to see. “Is mommy coming? I sure do hope she can see all this!” She was too busy talking about how excited she was to eat cake and open presents with her friends that she didn’t notice how her father’s smile faltered in slight anger towards his ‘wife’ not being present on their daughter’s special day.

“Uh, I think she will. She wouldn’t dare miss out on our little princess’ birthday.”

The sound of a door slamming shut woke the little girl from her slumber. She didn’t worry too much ’cause she was used to her mother coming home late. But, minutes later when the girl tried to fall back to sleep she heard shouting so she decided to go see what’s wrong. She walked down the steps holding the little monkey that her daddy gave to her today.

“How could you miss out on our daughter’s birthday?! She needed you there! But, no! You’d rather sit in a small office looking at a blank screen!” She heard her father yelling.

“I didn’t miss its birthday! Her birthday is tomorrow!” Her mother screeched. “And, don’t you dare go there, you bastard! I don’t even know why I wasted years and my body on you and that kid! You’re nothing!” The sound of glass breaking caused the little girl to let out a scared whimper. “I want you gone! Now, I don’t care where you go,” more glass thrown before footsteps were heard coming towards the stairs. “She stays, you leave! Take one more step and I will call the police and say you hit me!” The little girl cried waiting to see her daddy come to the stairs with that big identical smile on his face. But, he never came.

He never came home the next day. He never came the day after day after that either. Then, there was a call from the hospital with news that completely shattering that little girl’s world.

“I’m sorry, but Killian Everson was caught in a hit and run. He died on impact, we need you to come in to identify the body just to be sure…I’m sorry for your loss.”

That little girl lost every inch of innocence. She became broken. She was never going to see her hero. Her whole life just crumbled, broke into little pieces. Broken, lost, and alone was what the little girl had become.
