Prologue
People have always told me not to dwell on the past. But I swear it always has a way of coming back to haunt me.
I've been living on my own in Arizona for almost 3 years now. And to be honest, being 24 years old and not having much of a connection with my family with the exceptional visits for holidays or special occasions was not good for my mental health. Including my ex who was an abusive, controlling dick who fed me lies like any other guys would do "I love you forever and always" or "I can't wait until we have a family of our own". Though this is not the only reason for me heading back to New York City, it is definitely one of the main reasons. So I've made up my mind. Every negative memory whether physical or mental is staying right here in Arizona. I can't let my past define or control me. I must push this all behind me, try to move forward and start a new beginning. For those of you who may not know, i'm Anastasia. Anastasia Farley.
