Chapter 1

Harley's POV:

My name is Morrigan Harley Chase, but I just go by Harley. Yes Harley like the bike. In fact I was named after the bike as my dad liked them, so much so he rode off in to the sunset on his with out my mum and me.

I was named Morrigan after the Celtic Goddess of War and Fate. The name Morrigan means Phantom Queen, my dad gave me this name to honor our Celtic ties, too bad he didn't stick around long enough to teach me about my families past.

After my dad left, my mum and I lived in a beautiful cottage in the English countryside and I only saw my dad every so often, you see he had moved back to New York City-where he was from- to take over his fathers business- a sleazy biker bar if you were wondering-after my grandfarther died. So my dad left us behind, without a word just a single line on a piece of paper saying "I have to." no kisses, no sorry, nothing!

When I was younger I would spend the entire six weeks summer holidays with him, and I loved it I mean I was with my dad, I didn't care that we never actually spent any alone time together or did anything normal kids and their dads do. I'm talking no parks, no swimming, no rollacoasters zilch, zippo, natta. I would just sit in his bar suurounded by gang members, girls in slutty outfits, booze and drugs. Though I didn't know thats what they were back then luckily otherwise I don't think my mum would have let me come back ha ha ha.

That is until I turned twelve. My dad said it was to protect me from the dick heads who littered his bar not to mention the life he lead, of course I had no idea what he meant I was twelve for God's sake; it crushed me thinking my dad wanted nothing to do with me. But now he's all I have left, my only family.

You see my mum died last year, she had cancer. I hated seeing her so disheveled, soo broken.

She was once a beautiful woman with soft brown hair-which I inherited-and blue eyes that shimmered like a pool of water when the light caught them. She used to be so full of life, even after dad left she didn't let it get her down, yeah she threw herself into her job and looking after me but she was still..happy.

But after she got sick her hair fell out and her once shining eyes were dull and lifeless even when she laughed-which wasn't often. But I couldn't leave her, even when she told me to, told me to give up and live my own life; I mean she had given me everything I ever wanted.

We weren't rich but she never let me go with out. Of course I knew boundaries but if there was something I really wanted she would at least attempt to get it for me, making me appreciate the little things even more so.

My mum knew when it was time to say goodbye, she was a nurse after all and had seen patients go through this so often, that when it was her time to leave me she handed me a letter with everything in it. Her will, bank account details and a gorgeous letter that she had written for me telling me how much she loved me; with one last thing "Tell your dad I never stopped loving him." I thought she was mad for that part he had left us but I did it any way, it was her final wish after all.

And then she died! Left me. Alone!

At first I was sad, just going through the motions; arranging her funeral, going to her funeral, the "Sorry for your loss" 's that I had to endure. But then I got angry, so very angry. At her for leaving me, at myself for not being able to help her and at the world in general. How could she just leave me all alone?

Then I got depressed, I stopped going to my Access to Nursing classes at college, I would drink-a lot- and I locked myself inside my room only leaving when I really had to.

But about two months ago- eight months after my mum had died-I realised i was not doing what she had asked of me, she had always wanted the best for me. To live my life for myself so I started to get better, I was showering, eating, not drinking-as much.

It was just the small things at first but eventually I went back to class and I finished up my last year of college. And here I am, nineteen years old and a semi qualified nurse-I just need to go to university to get my nursing degree.

Once my dad found out that my mum had died he insisted on me coming to live with him even though I told him I was an adult now and completely capable of looking after myself. However he was having non of it so we came to a compromise; I would move to NYC but I would live in my own apartment, one that wasn't too far from the bar-and my dads flat above it- so he could 'keep an eye on me' his words not mine.

I reluctenly let out my childhood home, everyone told me to sell it but that was soo not an option! and packed mystuff to go, now I'm on my way to NYC, The Big Apple. To a man I havent seen in six years. What could go wrong?!?

My plane had landed over an hour ago and my dad had said that he would meet me but he was nowhere in sight so I decided to grab a taxi and go to the bar myself. Luckily I remembered the address from when I was younger and I had some American cash on me so I was golden. I turned away from the baggage claim towards the revolving doors that would lead me to the taxi bay when I crashed in to something hard.

It was so hard in fact I ended up falling on my ass in front of every one in the airport.

'Great one hour in a new country and I've already made a fool of myself'.

As I looked up at the thing I crashed in to thinking it was a wall I was surprised to find out it wasn't a what but a who.

A guy-an extremely fit guy- was standing towering over me, he was what I had crashed in to, well his muscly chest to be exact. The guy was dressed in black bikers leathers and-from what I could see- was covered in tattoos. He had deep green eyes and one of those ruggedly handsome square jaws, that had just a hint of stubble on it. Man I felt just like all the female characters in the novels I like to read.

Holding out his hand towards me the muscly tattooed man spoke "Sorry I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you okay?"

I blinked a couple of times and slid my hand into his giving him a small smile, as he hoisted me back on to my feet he gave a small smile back. "I'm good. And I ran in to you so sorry." I said rather meekly. Fuck what is wrong with me? I am never like this.

"It's fine" he replied back, our hands lingered-a little too long- in each others before I pulled mine away and cleared my throat.

"Well I best be going. Sorry again for-" I gestured at his chest "Bumping in to you" I said then walked past him towards the doors and away from the sexy biker guy I had just met, rolling my eyes at how dumb I had just sounded.
