“Diana Abergaveny. Huh. twen’y mill for this ol’ ‘ag.” Jimmy was reading a wanted poster for his bounty hunting partner, Sabuyo.

0

“Wan’ed for… piracy and kidnappin’. must’a been an ol’ case, ey?”

0

“Yes, no way an old one like her could kidnap anyone!” Sabuyo chuckled.

0

“She would be far too old and frail for such a rough crime. Let us see… oh!”

0

Sabuyo suddenly had a look of slight shock. “She was last seen near my hometown. I know that place like you know English, this will be a fast twenty million. There is a port nearby. Let us get tickets to the general area to there. Do not worry, I know the way there; to the port and the town.”

0

“Heck yea Sabuyo! Le’s go!” Jimmy shouted. He seemed just too exited, either about the hometown of Sabuyo or the 20 million dollars; it’s hard to tell.

0

Jimmy purchased the tickets to the nearest port, and they were off. It was expected to be a couple hours trip, according to the captain’s announcement. It was getting late, so about halfway there the ferry served a meal.

0

“James.” Sabuyo wispered, almost unintelligible because of how softly he spoke.

0

“Uh. Yea, bud?” James was very puzzled by this, you could see it on his face. He was quickly hushed by his partner.

0

“I have a feeling that something is going to happen. It is just a slight feeling, but you should never distrust your gut. My gut says to keep some rope nearby, I suggest you do too.” Sabuyo was still wispering.

0

Jimmy took the hint and wispered back “al’aight, i’ll find something. Hopefully it doesn-“

0

There was a huge bang, throwing James off of his train of thought. He grabbed some rope and sprinted to investigate. He almost forgot to open the door. To his surprise, he found Diana hopping onto the boat. James quickly bound her to a chair nearby, and noticed she had crashed her boat into the ferry boat. At this point, she was screeching profanities, insults, and threats. Anything she thought would hurt James, she yelled. There were also some words she yelled one could only assume were slurs for a man like him, such as a “beef stew cracker dipped in pig fat.” The glass wall was destroyed by the boat, there were glass and spruce plank chips everywhere. The stewardess that served the meal was in the opposite doorway with her hands on her mouth, shaking.

0

“It’s alright sweetie, everything’s taken care of. Do you mind having the captain turn around the boat, she desperately needs repairs.” James said while nodding to the cockpit.

0

A posh voice popped up from behind the girl. “Excuse me miss, I would like to get through”

0

After she gave way to the voice, a man looking almost exactly like the physical adaptations of Sherlock Holmes, down to the unlit smoking pipe in his mouth.

0

“Good afternoon, the name’s George Capulet. And you?” George’s hand was extended expecting a handshake.

0

“Same’t’ya, m’name’s James Morgan, but call me Jimmy, willya?” James accepted. “I’m gunna loot the ship, but first i’ve gotta let my partner know, so if ya’d ‘scuse me that’d be nice”

0

“Oh that’s perfectly fine. It was great meeting you.”

0

“Same.” James was quick to turn to Sabuyo. “Dude, Im’ma loot the ship, may call you when i need to. That aite?”

0

“Um, yes that is fine. Be careful, please.” Sabuyo muttered.

0

He looted the ship, and found some interesting items. A 6 meter by 6 meter portrait of Diana wasn’t even close to number fifty on the list of most messed up to least messed up. The first place goes to a man tied up to a chair in the captain’s chamber.

0

That took James off guard, and he pointed his six-shooter at the man and yelled “Who the fuck are you. Give me your name.”

0

“Jesus, *THATS * a warm welcome,” the man hollered. “The name’s Lear. Fucking asshole. Diana fucking took me like a stray cat. Let me the fuck go.”

0

“‘ey. Chill. If I let you off, will you hurt anyone, Lear?”

0

“If you fuck off then yes.” Lear continued hollering.

0

Jimmy cut the ropes with a pocket knife he always keeps on him, a gift from his father. It still cuts like heaven, surprising because it was forged by his great grandfather. It was incredibly ornate, with various gems in the handle. On the retractable blade, carved flowers were everywhere. Not a single milimeter wasn’t carefully decorated.

0

After cutting the rope, both James and Lear exited the boat to the ferry. Sabuyo was shaking George’s hand while the ferry was beilg docked.

angeliccove: I like the way it’s written, as if Iona is talking to the readers. Moving constantly from the past to present; letting readers in into the misunderstanding, heartache, loss, etc. I’m glad it’s a happy ending. Love it!

Another Half

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
