Prologue
Many people have heard of Naruto Uzumaki, the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox, also the current Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. What many don’t know is that Naruto wasn’t the original choice for the future Hokage. Granted, nobody knew who all would be Hokage, but there was one shinobi who showed great promise to be a great Hokage. His name was Higa Kiyoshima. Higa was the grandson of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju. Nobody knew who Tobirama’s son was or even his name. Nobody knew Higa’s parents as well, he was born in the village hidden in the mist, but during the attack of the Nine-Tailed Fox, he was given to the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Hiruzen Sarutobi, who was the Third Hokage, was told that he was the grandson of Tobirama. Kiga’s parents fought to protect their home village and nobody knew who they were or their clan’s history. They died during the battle. Higa was raised by Hiruzen, although Hiruzen had to take over his duties as Hokage after the Fourth was killed in the battle between the fox. Hiruzen never told Higa who his parents were, he only told him of his grandfather, who was his own teacher. Higa grew to become a strong shinobi, able to possess three chakra natures. His main nature was of the water nature, but he could also use earth and fire nature. This was only known by Hiruzen and the other top powerful shinobi in the village. Higa graduated from the academy at the age of seven, and quickly joined the ranks of chunin shortly after. He became close friends with Itachi Uchiha and the two were quite a pair. Unfortunately, the massacre of the Uchiha clan at the hands of Itachi caused a ripple in their relationship. Higa vowed to protect Sasuke, the last surviving member of the clan, and also vowed to become Hokage and protect the village and any others who were being manipulated by others within it. This is his tale. This is the tale of Higa Kiyoshima.
