Chapter 1

It all started with those nuclear attacks. The nuclear bomb that accidentally fell on our country caused the death of millions of people.

“Everyone urgently needs shelters… shelter… shelter..czzz”

Mankind was consuming itself. It was destroying itself.

It was as if he was watching their own annihilation.

He was closing his eyes indifferently to the facts.

He was waiting carelessly to pass away from this world

He was closing his mind to all this darkness

He wasn't making a sound, he wasn't speaking

He did not accept what was said.

He didn't want to face the truth.

Stay in the dream world and into the cruel world

He didn't want to stop cruel people

It was disappearing by itself again

He found himself on an unknown road.

There's no one left around

The world is a big void

He's screaming

He's screaming for someone to come and help her

In that moment, he realizes that those facts that he closed his eyes

Captured him

It pushed him into loneliness and extinction.

Screaming over and over but what's the use

The world that he didn't care about, that he closed his mind to, doesn't care about him anymore....

My body was on fire, it was as if when I opened my eyes, there were thousands of crying people around me. My head felt like it was going to explode. When I tried to stand up, a hand stopped it. "Stop. You need to rest a little longer, you can't stand up like this."

I was very confused. “Why are we here, why is everyone crying. Wait a minute, I... What's my name?"

The face of the man next to me went even harder. “I don't know how to say. I don't want to suddenly terrify you, but I have to say this, all the countries grouped up and declared nuclear war on each other. Although our country was not pro-war, it had to go to war with the country that accidentally dropped a nuclear bomb on our country. Because people wanted revenge for their loss. Revenge... This is how mankind is being dragged into extinction anyway. As for the name thing... I don't know, I guess you must have hit your head when you were running to the shelter before the bomb fell. Seeing you like that, I dragged you towards the shelter.”

“Aaaah…” It was as if lightning had gone through my eyes.

The phone rang. There was a thin and elegant voice in my ears, “Run to the shelter, don't worry about me, we're going to the shelter with your mothers…” The line was cut off, only the sounds of sirens and screams could be heard around.

"You get some rest, I'll come back to check on you." I closed my eyes...

Ren: The storyline is great! The author has built a rich and compelling world, I really like the elemental powers and how those apply in combat. Sometimes there are situations where I wonder why the characters don't use their powers in more practical ways outside of combat, like why doesn't Ross use his ...

Another Half

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
