The Adventures of Link (OoT)

The boy from Kokiri forest.

Quite small and quick as a wink.

Tales say he's the Hero of Time,

but you will know him as Link.

When great evil came to Hyrule,

Our hero answered the call.

He slew phantom and beast alike

no matter how big or tall.

He gathered the spiritual stones,

opened the Temple of Time,

pulled out the legendary sword,

and slept until he reached his prime.

With no hero, evil flourished.

The lands fell into darkness.

Ganondorf, King of Gerudo,

ruled with a distinct harshness.

Armed with the Triforce of Power,

Selfish intent were made real.

The Goron, Zora, Kokiri,

evil's presence they could feel.

Seven long years had come to pass.

Finally, our hero woke.

With the Triforce of Bravery,

Link was the savior tales spoke.

He brought light into the darkness,

rescued the fallen sages,

found the missing Princess Zelda;

A hope not felt for ages.

With Link and Zelda together,

Her wisdom, his bravery,

They could topple the dark ruler

and vanquish his knavery.

At the top of evil's castle,

A fierce battle transpired.

Bravery and Wisdom prevailed.

But still, evil conspired.

Using the last of his dying breath,

And his Triforce of Power,

Ganondorf summoned all his strength

and wrecked his castle tower.

Overcome with sudden panic,

Zelda and Link descended,

The castle crumbling around

until it was expended.

Standing in the castle's ruin,

They breathed a sigh of relief.

The evil had been vanquished.

At least that was their belief.

The foundation started to shake.

The ground shifted like the seas.

This time it wasn't Ganondorf,

It was Ganon: King of Thieves.

In the place of a dark wizard

stood a dark and beastly boar.

Towering over most buildings,

He struck fear into Link's core.

But it did not last very long.

Link and Zelda together,

nothing could stop their combined strengths.

Nothing they couldn't weather.

Ganon truly never stood a chance.

But they knew he could not die.

Due to the Triforce of Power,

Imprisonment they must try.

An everlasting banishment

to rid Ganon from the land,

held in place by sages' power,

a force that had to be grand.

Once done, peace started to return.

Goron, Zora, Kokiri,

from lake to mountain to forest,

Hyrule became less eerie.

And thus concludes the tale of Link.

But it's only one telling.

Some recount the tale differently.

A story more compelling.

Whatever you hear and believe -

Well, that is all up to you.

This is how I remember it,

a story where good is true.
