Summary

Adriana Reyes knows how to remain calm while strangers face the worst moments of their lives. As a 911 dispatcher, her voice can mean the difference between life and death. Then, at exactly 23:40, a terrified woman calls with an address and a desperate warning before the line goes dead. But there is no record of the call. Hours later, police discover a woman murdered at that address—and Adriana’s DNA at the crime scene, even though security footage proves she never left work. The next night, the phone rings again. Another voice. Another address. Another body. For seven nights, the impossible calls drag Adriana deeper into a nightmare where her memories cannot be trusted and every victim appears connected to a past she cannot remember. Someone calling themselves A.O.D.—the Angel of Death—is always one step ahead, leaving evidence that points directly toward Adriana while making it impossible for police to arrest her. With her FBI-agent friend risking everything to prove her innocence, Adriana must uncover the truth before the next call comes. But as the final zero on the clock begins to fade and **23:40** becomes **23:4**, Adriana realizes the dead may not be calling to warn her. They may be calling to make her remember.
