Chapter 1
I was ready for a good, old fashioned gang bang.
Thankfully that train of thought was quickly derailed when Rex appeared next to us with a few extra cans of beer.
“You two look like you could use some drinks,” he stated in an easy voice that instantly diffused some of my tension and soothed my raging thoughts.
He held out his hand, proffering the drinks and I gladly accepted mine with a ‘thanks’ and a warm smile.
“What did you think of the show?” Rex asked us, while looking expectantly at me. His voice was like a calm breeze, or a soft wave gently caressing a seashore. He exuded peace. His proximity had a soothing, centering affect and I took a deep breath, letting the tension melt away, before answering.
“That was one of the best shows I have ever been to,” I told him honestly. “Seriously, you guys were freaking amazing,” I went on. “I was totally blown away.”
Rex ducked his head in embarrassment and his cheeks blushed a becoming shade of pink. I think he was just expecting a ‘rockin’ show dude.’ I don’t think he was expecting quite that level of praise.
When he looked back up his face held a shy, pleased smile and a hint of something else. Something that made me notice the way my blood throbbed through my veins in hot, slow pulses. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself,” he went on, in earnest. “We love to pleasure our fans and watch them enjoying themselves…”
I was sure I detected a bit of double entendre from his tone, which was confirmed when the pink blush on his cheeks darkened. He kept eye contact, despite his obvious discomfort, until his heated gaze gave rise to my own discomfort, and I had to look away first.
I knew then that he had also seen Max and I, and it was my turn to blush with embarrassment.
It was good to be reminded that actions have consequences though, and that I should endeavor not to think with my cunt. She truly made the worst decisions.
“It certainly was a pleasure,” Max confirmed behind me, while giving my ass a surreptitious squeeze so I knew he was referring to our rather public game of hide the salami. I took a long pull of my beer and looked anywhere but at Rex.
I ended up catching Pace’s gaze again, by accident, and silently cursed myself for being careless with my wandering eyes. He’d obviously witnessed the entire exchange because he was smirking at me in that arrogant fashion of his, silently laughing at my plight.
I covertly flipped him off and then dismissed him with a roll of my eyes, turning my gaze to somewhere safer, to Lee. I know it was childish and ineffectual, but giving Pace the bird made me feel a little better anyway.
Lee caught my eyes on him and took it as his cue to head back over to us, towing Connor in his wake.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Foster edging over towards Pace and wondered if they'd been talking about me. Something told me I was right to be suspicious, but I didn’t have time to think more on it, since Lee and Connor were almost upon us and Lee had begun to sing.
“Girl, you really got me now.” Lee held a beer bottle up to his lips like a microphone and continued singing as he walked. “You got me so I can’t sleep at night,” this last was sung while invading my personal space and I didn’t know whether to laugh or to smack him.
“Shut up you ass,” I told him as I swatted at him.
He immediately backed away and grinned wide, laughing at his own antics. At least he’d shut up though. There was a limit to how many embarrassing shenanigans I could endure in one night. I felt like I’d reached it hours and hours ago.
Connor stealthily eased into the space his idiot friend had just vacated and leaned in towards my ear.
“I always wanna be by your side,” he managed to whisper with a straight face and without singing.
“Oh, Jesus, not you too,” I groaned in exasperation, giving him a shove. “Are we done now?” I asked while Connor stepped back with a deep, hearty laugh at my expense.
Max chuckled in my other ear and gave me an affectionate squeeze.
“You’re one of the crew now Maya,” he informed me with a smile in his voice. “They only fuck around with the people they really like.”
“Which is why we never fuck with Max,” Rex inserted into the conversation with a pleased smirk.
“Zing!” Shouted Lee and we all laughed.
It was stupid, but Max’s words warmed my heart. I guess being razzed by these imps, these Infidels, was alright.
“Ha, ha,” deadpanned Max. “Don’t quit your day job Rex… or your night job either, come to think of it.” Max said, giving the light stubble on his chin a rub. “You should really leave the comedy up to the experts,” he continued, clapping Lee on his bicep and giving him a wink.
“Man’s got a point, dude,” Lee agreed. “Trying to crack jokes in the same room as me is only going to make you look like an amateur.”
“You guys never quit, do you?” I asked, shaking my head and detangling myself from Max, so I could steal a seat on the couch while everyone was busy standing around taking pot shots at each other.
It was exhausting watching them measure their dicks with words and I’d been standing on my feet, in less than comfy shoes, for hours.
Unfortunately, I hadn’t thought about the ramifications of sitting down alone on a couch made for two.
Ever the opportunist, Pace materialized, out of the nowhere space I’d placed him in by refusing to pay any attention to him, and took the empty seat next to me. Foster joined the others, leaving me stranded on a couch island with my arch nemesis, so he could join in on the rib session.
“So…” began Pace, pausing to lick his lips. “When you were fantasizing about me fucking you, earlier, was this couch involved?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I hissed, scowling at him.
“I saw the look on that pretty face of yours, Maya,” he pinned me in place with his eyes while he inched closer to me and went on. “I’d lay odds that you imagined yourself draped over the arm of this very couch,” his lowered voice pulled me in.
I didn’t know how to answer. He was right, but I couldn’t admit it to this arrogant fucker. My feet really hurt and I didn’t want to give up my seat on the comfy, little couch. And I really didn’t want to give him the satisfaction either, of letting him know that he was affecting me.
If I got up from this couch, the point would go to Pace. That was simply unacceptable. I needed to stand my ground... or sit it. That’s the only thing bullies respect.
He shifted one leg up onto the seat, so he could turn his body towards mine, and draped an arm over the back of the couch. I could feel the heat radiating from his arm caress my shoulders and back, though he wasn’t touching me. Everything in me was telling me to get up and put some distance between us, but I was too stubborn to listen.
