Prólogo: Tú te lo buscaste
Tenía once años cuando vi mi primer asesinato.
No fue en una película. Ni en una pantalla. Fue en la vida real.
El hombre tuvo un par de espasmos antes de quedarse quieto. No le cerraron los ojos y nadie buscó una sábana para taparlo.
Esa fue la primera vez que lo entendí. En algunas familias, la muerte no es el final: es la iniciación.
Se hacían llamar Men of Iron. Lo decían como si fuera una oración. Lo llevaban puesto como si fuera una segunda piel.
Algunos sangraron por ello y otros mataron por lo mismo. Había quienes amaban como si fuera una guerra; otros, como si fuera su salvación.
Yo los observaba a todos. Desde un rincón o desde el pasillo. Miraba desde debajo de la mesa, donde nadie se fijaba.
Aprendí sobre el poder a pedazos. El peso de un kutte. El silencio en el Furnace. La forma en que el dolor no se medía por el grito, sino por cuánto tiempo aguantabas sin soltar ni uno solo.
En aquel entonces, ellos no me veían. No de verdad.
Esa fue la primera lección.
¿La segunda?
Los monstruos no siempre nacen. A veces, se hacen. Se crean pieza por pieza y palabra por palabra. Los crean quienes te dan la mano y quienes juran que te están salvando. Los hacen quienes te enseñan a sobrevivir a su propia clase de amor.
Y a veces... A veces, ni siquiera saben lo que han creado hasta que ya es demasiado tarde.
Esta no es una historia de villanos. Es una historia sobre la sangre. Sobre el fuego. Y sobre la familia que construyes entre las cenizas.
Lo recuerdo todo perfectamente. Incluso las partes que desearía olvidar.
Así que, si llegas leyendo hasta el final, solo recuerda una cosa:
Tú te lo buscaste.

I just finished reading your story The Dark Princess and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how cool it would look as a comic.
I really loved the scene in Chapter 3 where the princess discovers her dark powers for the first time the mix of fear and awe you described is so vivid. It is ideal for making a comic because the visuals of her transformation and the contrasting light and shadow would look stunning. Also, the intense confrontation in Chapter 7 between the princess and the mysterious stranger would make for a dramatic, action-packed comic panel.
I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.

I seen this series when I was researching for another book ( I see a book advertised I go looking for the true author) and it catch my attention and after reading this. oh I am ready to get started. I don’t think I have read anything you have written so here is to the ride I hopped on so as the saying goes let me buckle and get ready.
