In love with the reader
"We all read books and usually fall in love with one of the characters but have you ever thought what would it be like if the characters fell in love with us readers?"
" The flashlight poured in it's light and the room lit up for Eugene and Miles , as they walked up their way towards the staircase, there they saw lots of weird statues and disfigured sculptures around them, suddenly the wooden floor creaked and the rats ran out and about like madmen . Eugene pointed his flashlight up at the ceiling and looked up when suddenly - "
" Casey, it's time for dinner "
Mum called out at a very wrong time , right when the climax was about to begin , now I have to wait until tommorow to read what happened next . I got so engrossed in reading that I didn't realise that it was already time for dinner and that I've been reading for tow hours now. Disappointed over the fact that I have to give a halt to my reading I went downstairs for dinner .
Myself , Casey Ashwood a seventeen year old boy who is always in books . The book that I am currently reading , I am not actually lost in it's story but in it's main character Eugene Hygnes , he is also seventeen just like me . Eugene is a detective who sneaks out of his house every night and along with his childhood best friend Miles Collester solves crimes and mysteries .
Oh, how much I long to be there with them and solve mysteries, honestly the real reason why I want to be there is so that I can be with Eugene . But to my huge disappointment it is not possible for us to be together because , he is not real but just a Fictional character. And even if he were real he would not know me and my insane love for him .
Casey was unaware that his love for Eugene was about to bloom and they can actually be together. The writer who wrote the book somehow gave life to the characters, by creating a whole different universe , in a completely different dimension where Eugene , Miles and other people and characters from the book existed .
Eugene , even has a special ability, to see who reads the book , more like who spies on his life as he likes to call it . He has a magical mirror through which he can see the readers or as he likes to call them as "spies ". And one such spy have managed to catch his eyes , and yes that's Casey . As soon as Casey closed the book and left Eugene's eyes lost their shine .
Does he has to go now , can't he read a bit longer ? I wasn't done admiring his beauty , oh his face brighter than the full moon , his eyes shaped as an almond possessing the brightness of the north star. Only if I could have him with me or I am able to go to his world to be with him would I feel as if I am the luckiest one alive. Where everyone else reads the book for the story and plot, he reads it for me , when others get excited reading about me getting injured he's the only one who gets worried . Even a month ago on my birthday he bought a small gift for me and kept it on his bookshelf beside the book.
I know he loves me and I also know that I love him but the problem is Casey dosen't know that I love him , he dosen't even know that I exist . It hurts so hard to know that the person you love , also loves you back but doesn't know that you exist and if he finds out somehow about existence there no way that you both can be together.
Anyways, I can't just sit here in my room and cry all day , even if I ever do so then mom and Eric will get worried.
After admiring Casey for two hours last night it's hard for me to focus on my studies, when the teacher is teaching, all I can see is Casey's face and instead of the teacher's voice all I hear is Casey's sweet voice. Miles literally shook me twice to get my attention towards the teacher awho was staring at me because I was constantly getting lost in my daydreams , Daydreaming about Casey.
But unfortunately this is all I can do , just daydream about him , the only place where I can ever have him with me are my heart and my dreams . He is the only one who is on my mind all the time. One wish my only one wish is to have him with me, hold him in my arms and never let go , everytime I think about this my eyes start to tear up .

How unfortunate and cursed are we , to have truly loved someone whom we can never be together with ?
As I was walking back home I was thinking about Eugene and how good it would be if ever we both were able to be together, stay together and live together.
As I was lost in my thoughts about Eugene all of a sudden I heard a loud noise and felt something heavy hit me from behind and afterthat everything just went pure black.
I didn't knew what had happened to me or where I was , what place this was .
I just woke up and all that I can see around me is complete darkness , and all that I can hear is faint murmur from time to time. It sounds like boys , two of them probably , as much as I am scared to meet them , I still have to as I don't have any other option rather than that. I manage to gather enough courage to go out and confront them , as I am walking forward towards the sound , I can see some type of light , looks like flashlights , it's so bright that I can make out pretty much of my surrounding , based on what I can see it seems to be an old house .
After sometime , I was able to see two figures , must be the two boys , who I have been hearing all this time . They must have sensed my presence as they went quiet and looked in my direction . As I walked further ahead into the light, I was clearly able to see their faces and surprisingly one of them looked familiar and seemed to know me .
He asked : " You're Casey , right ? Casey Ashwood "
First I was surprised and confused , but then I answered his question
" Yes , and you ?"
As soon as I asked this question , I realized why did this boy looked so familiar . Judging from his appearance it seems to match the exact description of Eugene , the protagonist of the book series that I have been hooked to for months now . But how can he be real ?
I asked him , " You are Eugene Hygnes ?"
And to my utter disbelief he said
"Yes , I am "
I was completely confused as to how could he even exist , where was I and how was any of this even possible?
Seeing the confusion and fear appear very clearly on my face , Eugene asked the other guy , who probably was his best friend and companion Miles to leave us alone .
As soon as Miles left, Eugene said
"Listen Casey , I know you are not scared of me but are of this place, but don't be you are safe. I'll clear all your doubts , first of all yes I do exist and so does every other person from the book series. The author while writing the series , somehow created a parallel universe in a different dimension but very similiar to earth , bringing all of us to life . But as the series is completed now, he no longer has control over us or this universe, we are free beings now. Secondly, I have a magic mirror which allows me to see all the readers who are reading the series and just so you know, just like you are crazy in love with me , I am also crazy in love with you"
Realizing what he just blurted out, he quickly covered his mouth with his palms making me chuckle, after a pause he continued
" I am so sorry , I didn't wanted to say this like this in a hurry, but ya ... guess it can't be undone now so , moving on to the third thing . Nearly a month ago , while you were returning home from school, you got involved in a really bad car accident, when a drunk driver hit you from behind and you died . After you died there in the human realm , you got immediately teleported here , maybe because the last thing that you thought about before dying was me . That night Miles and I during an investigation found you by the river and brought you here , for you to heal and gain back consciousness. It's only been a week here but on the human realm on earth it's been a month already . Here you can live forever and no one can ever separate us now. "
I was already crying , by the time he stopped explaining , finally both of our wishes came true, seeing me cry Eugene pulled me in for a tight hug and said
" It was neither of our faults nor our immense desires to be together that you died there, it's just our destiny . And your family had already accepted the truth and they are coping up just fine, trying to move on from your loss , because they know you wouldn't have wanted them to suffer from grief "
He gently lifted my face and wiped my tears , and pressed his lips to mine . I wrapped my arms tightly around him , both of us crying now , both for having our wish fulfilled and me having to leave earth . We stood there kissing for what felt like eternity, as if the time has stopped . The place where we were was dark but our hearts were shining brightly with the light of love .
