It was night in a big town in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jade, who is a Vampire and also a Witch, was driving down the highway in her black 1997 Cadillac Deville hearse with the windows blacked out so the sun won’t hurt her. Jade was a young vampire still. She left Salem, Massachusetts, to go to Minnesota. She has been living with a covenant of witches, the same witches that were taking care of her after she was born. Jade’s mother wanted to protect her from the hunters that wanted to kill her and her daughter Jade. Jade grew up not knowing her mother’s fate, nor did she know anything about her father. The covenant was very good to her. All the women didn’t care that she wasn’t a human. The witches would feed her blood that they got from the blood bank, but when Jade got older, she would hunt. Jade would hunt people, she would find a victim, and she would feed on their life essence. She would lure in pedophiles and people of a similar background. She only fed when she needed to and only killed what she was eating. Jade’s hair was like silk and as black as night, her skin was pale like snow. She was a thin and a very muscular vampire. Jade was about 5’2’ in height, her eyes were red like wine. She had her lips pierced, her nose, eyebrow, her checks, and in other places. Jade wasn’t alone. She had her trusted companion, Jinks. Jinks was a long-haired black cat, his fur was soft like cotton, his eyes are yellow like a sun flowers. He was fearless. He was raised by Jade. Jinks was not a typical cat, mind you. He would turn his nose up to what typical cats eat. Jinks ate more like a human. He was spoiled. He was a chunky cat, but he was far from fat. Jade pulled off the highway now that the sun had set. She stopped at a bar and grill to get Jinks and herself some nourishment. She pulled into a parking spot, she stopped the car and looked out the window and read a sign, It read ‘HOME OF THE JUICY LUCY’.

Jade: What do you want to eat, Jinks?

Jinks: I want to try that Juicy thing.

Jade nodded and proceeded to get out of her hearse, closing the door and headed into the bar. There in the front were people smoking and laughing. A man opened the bar door for Jade. Jade nodded a thanks and went in. She went to the front to order Jinks’ food. She could sense someone was watching her. Jade looked around and there was someone gazing at the young girl. Jade knew what the man was thinking. It repulsed her. But she knew that he would be her next meal. No one would miss an unsatisfactory life like this man. The man left the bar and was outside, waiting for Jade to leave. She knew what was going to happen. When she got the food, she paid and left. She went to her hearse and placed the food in the front passenger side and closed the door and locked it. All the while, the grotesque man was watching her. He looked like he hadn’t showered in days. Jade went to the sidewalk and was walking. The man was following her. She turned down an alley and waited. When the man turned the corner, it was all over for him. Jade grabbed him and snapped his neck, then she fed off of him. When she was done draining him of life, she found his wallet and pocketed it. She picked up the lifeless man and chucked him into the dumpster. Jade then left the alley and went to her hearse. She got in and was ready to leave. Jinks was in the front set. He had the monstrosity burger in his paws.

Jinks (mouth stuffed with food): Did you eat?

Jade: Yes, I did. He was a woman beater. He beat up his wife before coming to this bar.

Jinks was devouring the burger and was taking a few fries every now and again. Jade pulled out of the parking space and was back on the road. She had another 2 hours of driving before she made it to her new town, Aldrich. It was a small town, only 58 people live there. Jade bought a small farmhouse near the woods, she knows that she would have to go to the neighboring towns to feed at night. Jade wasn’t a people person, she didn’t mind humans. But she found them to be annoying and too sensitive, but she found werewolves to be worse. Every Werewolf that she had met always acted entitled. Vampires thought they were the superior race, and Witch’s thought they were untouchable and unstoppable, the superheroes. Jade never thought of herself like that. She thought of herself as basic. She knew she wasn’t noble and wasn’t above anyone. To her, she was a cold-blooded killer, a demon if you will. She knew she was cursed, cursed to want blood and to hunt like a mindless animal. Jade has only been driving for an hour. She had to pull off to get gas and to get snacks for Jinks. She pulled into the gas station and pulled up to a vacant gas pump. Jade turned the hearse off and got out. She walked around it and opened the gas tank door and removed the fuel cap. She turned around and pressed the button of what gas she needed, taking the nozzle and putting it into the tank. Jade filled up the tank and when it was done, she put the nozzle back and put the fuel cap back on and closed the gas tank door. Jade headed into the gas station, looking around at all they had to offer. She grabbed a sandwich and some chips, looking at what else Jinks would want for the day when she was sleeping. Jinks is like Jade’s familiar, but he was just a normal cat. He protects her when she sleeps, and in return, Jade feeds him whatever he wants. Jade did put a spell on him. He can eat whatever he wants and won’t get sick. She also made it so he can never die. She is prone to death. But thinking about her beloved Jinks dying, she can’t handle that.
