Dear Jounal,

Today was horrible but that's normal now, I guess. But, I'm ok. I will always be okay no matter how bad things get. I got beat up, again, at school of course... my mom and Dad are fighting, like normal, trying to figure out how to fix it, again, and I hope they know there is nothing they can do or say to make any of it better. I just want this to all go away. The blood, the bruises, the fighting, the feeling of that I'm always in trouble when I did nothing but walk in the hallways and be myself. Unfortunately we have been fighting with the school for years about the same kids and the same situation that keep happening. Just because I am gay... like honestly! I'm just tired of the same routine everyday and I'm tired of hearing the same thing. "Oh we can only suspend them for a few days." And I am so sick and tired of having blood drip everywhere. But you know what I am really sick of? Having the place where I love and feel like my home become my worst enemy, school. I used to love being at school. Seeing my friends, making new ones, helping my teachers, and being the perfect, or as perfect aa I can, Straight A student. I am still a Straight A student and the most loved by all the teachers... but I just feel so unsafe there and it's still surreal to me. But as I look at the clock and it's almost midnight night, meaning that I have to wake up at 7am and do this all over again tomorrow. So to be prepared as well as I can I'm going to go to bed, night.

At 6:30AM Noah woke up on his own and looked at the time. He sighed as he looked it. That read 6:30 AM on it. He sighed gently and smiles at it. "Well good morning clock." He looked around his bedroom and realized that it was still dark. "Hello darkness." He said with a half smile on his face. As he looked down on his bed he saw this black fluffy thing on it. He jumped lightly until it made a soft snoring noise.

Noah got closer to it and saw his dog on his bed. "Oh hey buddy I didn't see you or feel you there. Heck, I don't even think I heard you come into the room." He giggles and pets his dog lightly. "Good morning my little shadow." Shadow perked his ears up slightly and Noah laid down next to him and he gently licked Noah's face. Noah just giggled more as he gently cuddles him while petting him. "Come on Shadow. Let's go get something to eat then I'll take you out. How does that sound?"

He just grunted in return and got off his bed, waiting for Noah to make the first step. Noah smiles and grabbed the leash that was on his bed and walked to the bathroom. "Hang on buddy." He walked in and did whatever he had to do and Shadow just waited for him by laying down near the door. After he was done he opened the door and walked into the kitchen. When he got in their he saw his parents dog laying on the floor not looking very well. "Hey Chance." He laid down next to him to see what was wrong.

After about ten minutes of checking him out and seeing nothing is wrong he runs upstairs to his parents room. "Mom dad. Can you two please get up." Noah's mom, Hazel gets up. "Noah honey it's 6:40AM. What's wr-" before she can finish her sentence Noah cuts her off. "It's Chance mom he isn't doing well." Her eyes get wide and pushes her husband. "Sam, babe. Wake up!" He wakes up in startled by his wife and son. "What is going on at 6:41 in the god damn morn-"

Before he can finish both his wife and son cut him off. "Chance. Something is wrong with Chance." He got out of bed and ran downstairs. His wife running with him and Noah trailing behind him. "Noah call the vet, please." Noah nods and gets his phone out of his pocket and looks for the vets phone number. Once he found the number he calls the vet. After about five minutes he hangs up and looks at his parents. "He will be here in two minutes. In the meantime I'm going to feed Shadow and get breakfast around."

They both nod and Sam picks up Chance and puts him on the couch. "Here you go boy." At about 6:44 am the vet pulls into the driveway. When he pulled in he got his work bag out of the car. Meanwhile, Noah was in the kitchen eating his food with his dog and his parents where in the living room with their dog. Noah watched out the window and got up to answer the door when the doctor can close. "Hey doc. Sorry about the early morning call." He smiles at Noah and shrugs. "It's okay Noah. I just hope I can help. Where are your parents?"

As Noah closed the door only two words came out of him. "Living room." The doctor nods as he started walking to the living room. Noah signed as he walks back into the kitchen. Before he sat down he checked Shadows food bowl that was now empty. He smiles softly at his dog and ruffled with his hair. "Good boy Shadow." He smiles as he looks at his own plate that still had some food on it. He sighed as he grabbed the plate no longer feeling hungry and throw out the rest of what was on it.

He then grabbed Shadow's leash and put it on him, but he made him sit first. Once it was on him Noah took him out to go to the bathroom and then for walk around the block. The block wasn't a long one less then half a mile for sure. Noah lives in a suburb of the city in Washington D.C called Woodbridge. It is a nice place to live. Noah liked the place that he can call home. He likes going to the city and going to a Ravenwood High School. He just wishes that he wouldn't get beaten up everyday just for who he is. But that's not the only thing he found out he didn't like.

Thee other thing he realize that he wouldn't like is to live in the city, especially not on his own. It would be way to much noise for him and too much of a headache to live in the city. Unless, he was living in a college dorm and didn't have to go anywhere or do anything that involved driving in the city. Noah looked at his dog who was happy walking side by side together on silence. Noah smiles as he turns back looking straight up again and checking his surroundings. Halfway to the block Noah's watch started ringing.

He stopped walking to check it and it was his mom calling him. He smiled as he answered it. "Hey mom. I was just heading back to the house. What's up? Why does it sound like you and dad are on the road heading somewhere?" She sighed softly. "Your father, the doctor, Chance, and I are all going to the vet to see if there is anything he can do anything to help him. Remember the doors at the school-"

He smiles. "Yeah mom I know. Just keep me updated with Chance. I'm going to take Shadow to puppy daycare so he isn't alone or anything." She nods while smiling. "You are a good doggie dad. I love you try to have a great day at school and-" Noah giggles. "Don't be late. I know mom. I love you." She smiles. "I love you too sweetheart, so does your father, and Chance."

Noah giggles softly and gets on the ground next to Shadow. He looked at him while panting. Noah just smiles and gently pets his soft fluffy hair. "Shadow says he loves you guys too."She giggles and sniffles. "See you later honey." He smiles. "See ya." He hangs up and starts heading back to the house. After he gets home he makes Shadow set down. He sits and waits patiently for the lash to come off. Noah smiles at him while he takes the collar off of him and puts him. "Good boy." He licks Noah a few times then half runs to the water bowl in the kitchen.

He drinks it and Noah smiles as he looks at the time, that read 7:15AM on it. His eyes widened as he ran upstairs to take a shower. After his quick shower he quickly dried off, then got dressed. He threw on a pair of blue jeans and a light brown sweater that was a little big on him. He ran downstairs and grabbed his keys hanging on the wall. He then grabbed a gallon size zip block bag and dumped dog food in it. When the bag had enough in it he zipped it up then tossed it aside together a new one started.

Noah kept pouring food in the bag until that was full too. "Okay buddy, wanna go for a ride?" He said while closing the other gallon bag. He barked and stood by the door doing circles. Noah giggles as he looks at his dog. "Okay okay okay. We are going." He grabbed everything that both of them where going to need for the day. He doubled checked to make sure he had everything. "Okay bud out to the car we go." He carried everything out in two bags.

One was a dog bag duffel bag that had all of Shadows stuff in it with his name engraved in the front. The other bag that he was carrying was his regular school bag. He told him to sit and he did whimpering. Noah talked to him to calm him down as he put the Kong leash on him. He put that one on him in case he needed to use it or the people at the daycare needed to. After it was on him he walked out to the car and Shadow followed right next to him.

Noah opened the back door of it his car and got Shadow in it. He then put the bags in the trunk of his car. He shut both doors then but the key in the ignition of the car, then turned it. He looked around his surroundings and started backing out when his car was ready to drive. By the time they got there it was 7:30AM. "Okay buddy we are here, let's go." He picked him up and got him down. He held the leash as he grabbed the duffel bag.

He walks inside the daycare. When he got in the receptionist smiles and waved at him. "Oh hey Noah. Hey Shadow. Long time no see. What's going on?" Noah smiles. "Well my parents are taking Chance to the vet and will be there for awhile. I have to go to school. I know this sound pathetic but I didn't want to leave him home alone so here we are." The receptionist smiles and nods. "Okay. Yeah that's fine. Here give me his bag I'll bring it to the back."

He hands it to her. "Here you go." She takes it and puts it over her shoulder. "I forgot you don't pack lightly Mr. Barrons." He giggles while shaking his head no. "I like my boy to feel like he is at home when he isn't going to be for a while." She nods in total understanding as to what Noah is saying. "I get it that. Well, when you get out of school and pick him up my boss and you will figure out the money situation then. But don't worry about that until after school. For now just note Shadow is in good hands."

He smiles. "Thank you so much. See you in a few hours." He kneels down next to Shadow and pets him softly. "You be a good boy for them, okay? I'll see you in a few houses." Shadow barked in agreement and licked his face. Noah smiles and got up of the ground. "See ya in a few hours." He said waving as he left the building.

When Noah finally got to school the clock was 7:45AM. He sighed as he turned off the car. He then took his phone out of his dashboard and looked at it to see if he had any missed calls. He had one from Mom.

His eyes widened as he called her back as quickly as he could. At the second ring his mom picked up. "Hey honey, I was just calling to make sure everything was okay." He smiles and looks down at the keys in his hands. "Yeah mom everything is fine. I just got to school now. The receptionist, London was super nice. I mean she always is but she didn't change me yet for Shadow. When I pick him up I'll have to pay but I guess that's going to handled with Jordan. But how are you guys? How is Chance holding up?" She sighs and he can tell something was off.

It took her a moment to answer the question. "Well... he has what I thought he did. Noah, Chance has stomach cancer. It's bad honey. They aren't sure if they can even get it out." Noah put his head down and looked at his keys. "I'm not going to school today." His mom stopped him. "Noah no! You are going to school you have to keep that perfect attendance! I will not take you out of school for this. It's not important enough." Noah got upset and hung up on his mom.

That was the very first time he ever did that. He took a few deep breaths and then put his lanyard over his neck. He then put his car keys on it. He grabbing his wallet and then got out of his car. Once he got out he then got his bag out from the back of his Honda Civic. Then locked his car door and started walking to the not very welcome doors to the school. When he got in the building he walked to the cafeteria to hang out with his friends. When he got in there he saw his best Sebastian, the Jock.

Noah looks at him and he smiles. When Sebastian sees him, he smiles. "Hey Noah, wanna sit over here?" He nods as he starts to walk over to him. Once he walks over he sees an empty chair and sits down. "Hi everyone. How is everyone's morning going?" Sebastian looks at him and tilts his head knowing something is wrong with him. "Umm my morning was okay. You know nothing new or out of the ordinary." Noah nods as he listens. "Okay, that's good actually." Noah says feeling uneasy.

Sebastian nods. "Yeah I guess. Anyone else wanna share?" The all shake their heads. Expect for one Austin. The quiet friend, besides Noah. "I heard about the science fair this morning. Did you boys here about the Science Fair." Noah nodded, "Yeah I'll actually be in it this year. I'm actually pretty excited for it this weekend. I have a few science college reciters coming to check out my work. I just hope it's good enough to get me into GWU."

They all smile at him feeling very happy and proud of him. "We will all go, to rout for you." Before they can continue the conversation as soon as the bell rings they all rush to their first period class of the day. Noah got halfway down the hall he hears the three words that made his skin crawl with fear. "Hey nerd boy." Noah turned around seeing all three boys stare him down. One of them shove him into the wall while the other other holds him down.

The leader came right up into his face and smiles. "I guess we didn't do enough damage because you are back. See I didn't want to come back. So here is what I'm going to do. I am going to make sure you can't leave the hospital for a very long time." Noah just smirks at him. "What are your plans? You're going to punch me right? Go right head you do the same move everyday." The leader looked him up and down. "Have I broken a bone in your body yet?"

Noah shook his head. the guy, that was holding him, put him in a hold on the floor and snapped his arm in half. The leader laughed as Noah screaming in excruciating pain. Everyone in the hallway stopped dead in there tracks to look to see what the fuss was all about. "I love the sound of screaming early in the morning." The leader said still laughing with the rest of his 'posse' 'gang' and lack there off. Just before they could do anymore damage. Noah starts throwing up.

He got most of the vomit on the leaders shoes. "You got to be kidding Barrons! Now I'm really going to do damage to you." He kicked him hard in the face, them slammed his head into the wall over and over ago. He then threw him on the other side of the wall in which he feel into the chest of no other them Sebastian. He held him tightly into his arms. Blood a bunch of it got all over his good white shirt. He sighed and the minute he realizes it's Noah, a whole other size comes out of him.

A side no one has ever seen before. "Who did this?" He yells as loudly as possible. "I said, WHO THE HELL DID THIS!" A bunch of kids shivered with dear. All but three. "You three did this didn't you?" The leader nods. "Yeah, we had to teach him a lesson." Sebastian smirks. "What lesson was that? To not come back to this school. To not be himself. To not be the great person he is. I hate to break it to you but Noah. He is the best damn thing that ever happened to this school.-" The leader looked at him and lessoned. "That's a fantastic story. Brovo.-"

Sebastian growls at him. "I wasn't finished. So you are going to shut the hell up and let me finish since my friend is in my arms bleeding. He is there when people needs him with homework, notes, or even the new students to feel welcome. Our school it has records like no other because of him in academics and that's all Noah's doing. If I remember correctly Noah was the one that helped you and your friends out three years ago. How do you re-pay him, all over. You abuse him."

He looks at everyone in the hallway and sighs. "You all do! I bet half of you don't know how shitty it makes him feel. I'm tired of it, he is tired of it, his parents are tired, pissed and feel like they can't help their son out. The school they will never tell you guys this but they are tired too. But you know who is going to finish it? I am. I am done with my friend at 2 AM calling me crying about all this stuff I'm telling you now. I'm done seeing him hurt and I'm done with the threats. So I'm going to make a promise. If any of you hurt him again in anyway. I will hurt you. Do I make myself clear?"

Everyone in the hallway, including the three boys nodded in agreement. "Good now where is Mr. Simon?" They all look around and see the nurse walk in a little late. Sebastian sighs as he carefully but quickly runs down to him. While carrying Noah in his arms.
