1: Drowning

Start writing here…He pressed send without fully thinking about what he was doing. He was lost in a sea of grief. This will be the last message, he thought. This has to be the last message.

I know you don’t care but I miss you so fucking badly, it hurts.

This was beer number 5….. or 10, fuck, who’s counting. He sure wasn’t; it didn’t matter anyways. All he knew was that it helped ease the pain that settled in his gut and refused to leave. Unlike her. She didn’t even try to stay, try to talk about it….try to work it out. She just left and hadn’t responded to even one message, hadn’t even acknowledged him after she packed up her stuff and left three months ago.

“Fuck it,” he said aloud after ten minutes passed with no response. He couldn’t continue this one sided conversation anymore. It was simply too much.

I won’t bother you anymore….sorry for everything.

He sent this. And he meant it. He wouldn’t bother her anymore. He tried for months, drowned in her absence but got nothing in return. He woke up thinking of her smile. Went to work wishing she would text him like before asking how his day was going. He spent his evenings drinking and trying to erase the image of her long dark hair and curvaceous body that was seared into his memory and wrapped around some of the happiest memories he had. But, he couldn’t.

But, he had to.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
