A book for all ages to enjoy!
"Knowing family members who are a little...quirky, shall we say, I love that this is a book I can sit down with my kids, read together and they can recognise themselves and their friends in the characters. Apparently I am just like the mum, according to one. It's like a modern innocent kids mystery book and I hope there will be more to follow. We're just waiting for the next chapters to see where this story is going to take us! Me, for the nostalgia of my own halcyon days of childhood and, for my kids, they just want to know what happens next! We've read all six chapters so far and it's fast flowing and really easy to read. "
Nostalgic
"It is quite easy to identify a lot of things we did in our childhood. Probably and/or almost everyone had a best friend, which in my case was Gil. I also had a lovely dog living with my parents—Princess in my case. Everything is related to some part of our lives, like riding bikes, climbing trees, and exploring, for example. It all smells like adventure, and it really is. The thrill of discovering and solving mysteries is exciting. The writing style is fluid, making it very easy to understand. A lot of pleasant stories resurfaced while I read, which was fantastic because I had happy memories from those days. The protagonists friendship is very palpable and I learned something, even if little, about autism just by imagining Wilde's behavior and processing his incisive lines. It is very interesting since I've never had contact with such incredible beings. The author is very sensitive in her descriptions, which helps a lot. The question that remains so far is: what will happen when the clock "does its thing"? *suspense* I loved it, and I will keep reading."
A fun story
"I left comments as I read, but to summarize: I like Quinn's narration because it really lets him get to know us, but sometimes the flow of the story itself is not great. Sometimes things that I would like to see in detail are glossed over or summarized. Some of the dialogue is unrealistic and Wilde is quite a flat character. But the story is interesting, and I am curious to see what will happen next with this whole bridge thing!"

"Re: Round 1 Judge's Review: The idea of the story is very original and so is the portrayal of the characters. The author's motivation is to show people who are on the spectrum, and I think that carries a very important message: that creative fields like literature are still too monotonous and people who don't fit into societal norms still don't have a voice and are underrepresented. I liked the personalities of the characters and how they were reflected through their actions and ways of thinking. The story is light-hearted and fun and based on a magical world system, so I can imagine families and young audiences enjoying the narrative. Still, I had a hard time judging this entry because I am trained to analyze a text in terms of writing craft techniques and literary theory, but the story and the way it is written does not conform to typical writing norms. So the question is, does it have to? My answer is yes and no. On the one hand, literature should encourage people to write creatively and try new things. On the other hand, if the text doesn't work, you have to sit down and look at writing and narrative techniques. Apart from that, I enjoyed the read, even if the text still needs a lot of polishing. It really was a new experience among all the classically written books :-)"
