ASTOR ASTORATH: AWAKEN (ONESHOT)
Years have passed by Astor, 21 years old, who already had enough of his life issues of pressures, stress, and all of the problems he had to face in his life. Deep down he wanted to change into someone new and better, but his gut never told him to search for power to do such a thing, so... he ended it. But to his surprise, as he felt something of his ended, something new emerged from it. He woke up in a world and environment he could never imagine, an RPG world.
The sound of someone speaking came out of nowhere, making a two-way communication for Astor to speak with. It’s the Guide system of the RPG world.
You open your eyes and find yourself tied up in a cave with what sounds to be a group of goblins just barely out of earshot.

Your starting power stages are as follows:
Physical aura: Beginner stage Magic Tier: 1st tier
There are also many hidden stats and traits.
“Where am I?”
You see you are in some sort of dimly lit cave with a group of goblins around a fire. The cave is surprisingly well-lit, with a lot of light coming from a couple of torches lining the walls. You also see a very large amount of treasure, most likely from other previous victims of the goblins. The goblins themselves seem to be very war-like in nature and have a lot of weapons and armor. The cave is very spacious, with a large amount of room to walk around. The air feels fresh and cool, with a slight hint of dampness.
“What am I wearing right now? What possessions do I have right now?”
You find yourself to be wearing a simple tunic and pants along with a cloth vest. The clothes are pretty worn, but still are very usable. You also see an old rusty dagger hanging from your side. You have a simple canvas rucksack, which was probably taken from another unfortunate adventurer who met his end here, which contains a leather tome, a candle, and a small pouch.
“Do I have to fight these goblins or can I find a way to exit out of this cave?”
You don’t have to fight them. You can try to find another exit or try to sneak past them and leave the cave.
Alternatively, you can try to attempt to take them all on, but from what you have seen, they are quite warlike and have a lot of weapons and armor.
“How possible it is for me to bring some of the treasure with me out of this cave?”
You can try to grab some of the treasure, though it may be tricky and/or loud depending on what you are grabbing. The goblins are quite greedy themselves and may try to challenge you to get that treasure away from them. Some of them also have some pretty good armor on, so if things go downhill, it may be difficult to escape with any treasure in a fight with them.
I chose to quickly grab the pouch near me and at a glimpse snatched two handfuls of gold coins out of the treasure and inserted them into my pouch, then started to run into the exit while also snatching a torch for my light.
You quickly grab a pouch of gold coins and start making a run for the exit. The goblins see you as you attempt, and they all start yelling and start chasing after you.
Luckily, you manage to run out of their reach and start making your escape into the cave. They send some spears and arrows after you, but you move too quickly for the goblins to land a hit. You exit the cave and see that you are in a small clearing. You’ve managed to lose the goblins.
Before I left the cave, I chose to grab one of their missed spears on the ground for my weapon at the moment, and then head towards the nearest village.
“What time is it?”
You manage to find a spear that the goblin previously was using. You pick it up and find it to be quite hefty and sharp. You leave the cave and head eastward. You head onward, and eventually end up seeing a little village in the distance. The sky is overcast, and you see some clouds rolling in. It is quite dark out, and you can barely make out the village. It is hard to say what the time is, but it appears to be either very late at night or very early in the morning.
“Is there any store or vendor open at the moment in the village?”
You get closer to the village, and you find an old rundown store that is still open. It seems to be an herbalist/medicine store. The lights are on, as somebody is working inside. They don’t seem to have noticed you yet as you approach the store.
Then I chose to go inside the medicine store to buy some healing potions and energy potions with some of my gold coins.
You walk into the store and notice that it is filled with various types of potions, herbs, and remedies. You see an old lady standing behind the counter, who looks up at you and smiles at you. “Welcome to my store. How can I help you today? Looking for something special?“, she says with a friendly demeanor.
“I’m looking for healing and energy potion, are they available here?”
The old lady gives you a friendly nod. “Oh, yes, indeed I do have some healing potions and energy potions. They both are pretty popular so you will find them over there.” She points to a table near the back of her store, where you can see a large variety of different potions for sale.
I pick a couple of healing potions and energy potions and put them on the counter
“Is there any night enhancement vision potion?”
The old lady nods again. “Yes, I do have a night vision potion. In addition to giving, you enhanced vision at night, it also gives you improved hearing and sense of smell when taken.” She grabs the potion that you ask for and places it on the counter.
“Great, maybe for the last... Ummm... Is there any potion that could make me ‘invisible’ for wild animals to lose my scent? You know, to blur your tracks and so on to flee from them?”
The old lady gives you an amused look. “Oh, I see. You are quite the clever adventurer. Yes, I do have the potion that you speak of, which can make you practically invisible to any type of hostile animal. This will help you slip into any danger unnoticed by the beasts of the wild. It’s one of the lesser-known potions that few know of, but it can be quite useful if you find yourself in an unfavorable situation.”
“All right! I’ll take it! And with all the other ones, how much will it cost me?”
The old lady begins to calculate the prices for the items and then says, “Hmm, for all these potions and items, I will ask 60 gold coins in total. Is that okay with you?” In addition to the potions, you also notice some healing salves, mana potions, and other items which you can buy if you wish.
“I’ll take that mana option over there and let’s say 65 gold coins is that a deal?”
The old lady nods at your offer, and says, “That’s perfectly fine with me. I’ll just go ahead and grab the mana potion from over here. If there’s nothing else you need, then you can head up to the counter and pay.” She grabs the mana potion and places it on the counter as well.
I take out 65 gold coins and pay them up at the counter
The old lady grabs the coins and counts them. She gives you a smile and hands you the potions. “There you go. That should be everything. Please do come by again. Hopefully, you won’t need the healing potions or night-vision potions on your next adventure.” She goes back to working in her store, as you leave and takes the potions with you.
“Oh! Mam! Excuse me!”
The old lady looks up from her work, and says, “Oh, yes? Do you need something else?”
“Is there any chance you might know what kind of deadly venom from animals/beasts around this village that I could get from them? You know, for hunting purposes.”
She gives you a suspicious look. “What exactly are you planning on doing with these dangerous venoms? I don’t want to be associated with something that’s going to bring harm to others.”
“It’s just that you know, I’m kind of new in this hunting and gathering things and all I could think for effective hunting big beasts from afar is by using some venoms, that way I could get like a huge bear meat that I could cook for days straight. Is that sound okay?”
The old lady sighs, and says, “I guess if you insist, I do have some beast blood or venoms that could be used to poison your weapon.” She grabs a vial of a green liquid and places it on the counter. “Please be careful, this stuff is very dangerous.”
“Aaah... And mam, for my knowledge, what animal is this venom gotten from?”
“The beast’s blood comes from the very ferocious bear that you can find up on Mount Zorn, just north of here. But be careful, those bears can be quite aggressive, and they can be found hunting during the day or at night.” The old lady hands the vial of bear blood to you. “It’s quite potent, so make sure to be very careful when using it.”
“Interesting... So. People call them Zorn Bear? Is there any bounty that I could get if I hand out their head/meat to the village, mam?” preparing to grab some of my gold coins
“Yes, indeed the locals call them Zorn Bears, after the nearby mountain. There is a very large bounty given to anyone who can kill one of these bears. They are quite dangerous, but a skilled warrior should have no issue killing one. The village will pay quite a decent reward for handing over the head of one of these beasts, and will gladly accept the meat as well.” She accepts the payment and hands you the vial of bear’s blood. “Here it is. Be careful with this.”
“Thank you very much. Have a nice day, sweet lady smiles as I leave the store”
The old lady smiles back at you and gives you a nod. “You too. Good luck on your adventures.” You head outside onto the road, and can now see that the village consists of a couple dozen houses and buildings with a few larger buildings in the center. You see a few villagers walking by, and they all give you a friendly nod or smile as you pass them. It is quite peaceful in the village. You see a larger building near the center of the village, which seems to be a tavern or pub. You can see quite a few people entering and exiting the building.
*I enter the pub*
You enter the pub and notice that it is quite bustling, with many people drinking and eating. Most of the patrons are either villagers or some traveling merchants and adventurers who have come to the village. You notice that at the edge of the room, there is a group of three adventurers discussing something amongst themselves. The tavern smells of some good stew and ale, and there is a group of musicians playing some music in a corner. The atmosphere in the tavern is quite lively. A couple of the tavern girls are seen walking around, tending to the customers.
“Man, I’m hungry, what are the menus and how much do they cost, dear bartender?”
You walk up to the bar, and the bartender comes up to you with a smile. He says: “Well well, my friend. Welcome to the pub. Are you here for some ale, some stew, or both?” He looks at you and raises an eyebrow. “I have a new menu, so take a look.” He hands you a menu. You take a look at the menu and notice that it is filled with all sorts of different drinks, snacks, and meals. The prices range from 5 gold coins for a drink to 15 for a good meal.
“Are the 15 gold coins already consisting of food with its drink?”
The bartender nods and looks at you with a smile. “Yes, that’s right. That is for a whole meal, with food and beverage together.” He then points to another dish on the menu which he says is a good choice. “That one is a favorite of ours. It’s only 8 gold coins in total, and is a good meal with a little bit of ale to top it off.”
“Well then! 8 gold coins meal for me this morning, dear nice bartender!” Give him my coins
The bartender takes the coins from you and nods, with a smile. “Of course. Coming right up. You are in for a treat.” He turns around and walks into the kitchen, leaving you at the bar alone. You wait for a few minutes before the bartender comes back out with a tray of food and a drink. He sets it in front of you and says, “Here you go, enjoy.” You take a look at the food and notice that it is a hearty stew with a good amount of meat in it. It looks very appetizing.
I’m eating the meal and drinking out the beverage while looking around for someone I would ask for some information later
You start to eat the meal. As you sip on the ale, you look around the tavern to see who else might be of interest to you. You see that the group of three adventurers discussing something in the corner are currently having a quite heated debate. It seems to be about which route to take to the goblin lair they were talking about earlier. Two of the adventurers seem to be arguing over the shortest route there, while the other one is arguing about the safest. It’s hard to tell who is right, but their debate is quite interesting.
“Is there any smaller group of adventurers or maybe a solo hunter that I might be able to be their apprentice for some short time? An expert hunter maybe?” Keep looking
You keep looking around the tavern and notice that there is a single adventurer currently sitting by himself and enjoying his meal. He seems to be an experienced adventurer, and judging from the looks of him, he has been on many dangerous adventures. He is also well-armed and equipped, with a sword at his side and a large quiver of arrows on his back. He also seems to be wearing some enchanted armor. He has a sharp look in his eye and seems to be quite knowledgeable about what goes on in these parts.
“Well then!” I finish up my meal and politely walk down to him
You finish up your meal and then walk over to the lone adventurer. He seems to be about to take another bite of his food. You walk up to him and say: “Excuse me Sir, but may I take up a moment of your time to ask you something?” The adventurer looks up at you and gives you a slight nod. “Of course, I’m happy to help if I can. What did you need?”
“You see, I’m quite a bit the noob-est adventurer in here, and I only got a spear here, but perhaps, is there any vacancy to be your apprentice at the moment, Sir? I’m looking for a high-challenge hunting and some fierce beast facing with you. If that’s available, of course.”
The adventurer looks at you with a slight smile, and says, “Well, it’s not every day that we have someone asking to become a warrior’s apprentice. But I do applaud your ambition in wanting to take on such a dangerous profession, without any proper experience or training to boot.” He pauses for a moment and takes another bite of his meal before continuing. “I must say that I may have an expedition coming up soon, and you can join my team if you so wish. It will be quite dangerous, though, and you must know your limits. In the end, I am still responsible for your safety.”
“Say, how big is your team, Sir?”
The adventurer says, “Well, we don’t have a set size for our team. It all depends on how many people I can gather for the expedition. At the moment, I only have one other person that is confirmed to join. But if I may ask, how much experience do you have with combat? Are you just new to hunting, or are you new to combat in general? This expedition will require a certain amount of combat experience.”
“Worry not! It’s only that my weapon is blunt, but my survival instinct is at the top, my reflexes are sharper than anyone you could point at in this pub if I must say.”
The adventurer raises an eyebrow and says, “You have quite the confidence in yourself, don’t you? If your reflexes are as good as you claim, then that is impressive. But you must be able to prove that you have the skills to back up those words. The expedition that I am planning is quite dangerous. If you can show me that you have some ability to fight, then perhaps we can work something out.
“Say your goals and targets, Sir! And I’ll show you how this brain of mine could skin up Zorn Bears inside out.”
The adventurer takes a sip of his drink and says, “Very well. Our plan for this expedition is to hunt an elusive creature known as the Dread Wolf. It is known to be very swift and fierce, and can easily strike down even the most experienced warriors. The wolf has been known to stalk its prey for weeks before striking. I plan to hunt this wolf down and put an end to its rampage once and for all. Do you think you can help with this?”
“Ooohhh chills down my spine, Sir! Count me in! Say, is there a moment of preparation that you have for this expedition or are you already wanted to start the track right away, Sir?”
The adventurer seems to think for a moment, before saying: “Well, we will certainly need some time to prepare for something as dangerous as hunting the Dread Wolf. I’m currently gathering some information on its whereabouts, but once we have that, we will need some time to plan out our attack. There are also some more supplies that I will need to acquire before the expedition. So, let’s say we take a few days to prepare, and then we will make the final plans and set out to take on the Dread Wolf.”
“Few days aye? Alrighty. Is there any paper that I must fill in for your expedition, Sir? Ahaha”
The adventurer lets out a laugh and says, “No, there is no formal paperwork that needs filling out. We are mainly just getting things ready for the expedition. I suggest you spend these days preparing yourself as well so that you will be ready when the time comes. I will also need to know how skilled you are with that spear of yours.” You can see that the adventurer’s facial expression has shifted to a much more serious and determined look.
“Say no more.” picks up my spear, closed my eyes, and launched it into the back of my head at a glimpse, my spear flew through the pub and landed on a picture of a beast’s heart
You pick up your spear and throw it, with incredible accuracy, into the back of your head. The tavern patrons all stare in disbelief at the incredible shot. The adventurer looks at you, with a slight smile on his face and says, “Well done. That was an impressive shot. I can tell that your reflexes are quite sharp. You seem like you would be very useful on this expedition. I look forward to having you on my team.” The adventurer then finishes his meal and stands up, with you by his side. He puts out his hand and says, “My name is Armat.
“Greetings, Sir Armat, the name is Astor!” answers his hand, and shakes them tough
Armat shakes your hand, and says, “Good to meet you, Astor. I look forward to starting our expedition.” He pats you on the shoulder, and says, “Now let’s go grab me supply. You can come along, as you will need everything you can get to assist in the hunt.” He starts walking out the door of the tavern, with you following closely behind. As you walk through the streets, you notice that the village is quite busy at this time of the day. People are walking around, shops and stalls are set up, and people selling their goods.
Before I followed him out of the pub, I retrieved my spear and then run to him, following his steps.
“Say, where are we headed first, Sir Armat? ”
“We first need to head towards the blacksmith, to see if he has an armor that could suit you. A skilled hunter such as yourself should have the proper protection and equipment to be able to face a beast like the Dread Wolf.” He leads you towards the blacksmith shop, which is on a nearby street. You walk into the shop and see an old dwarf blacksmith working on a piece of armor. He is using a hammer and anvil to forge the plates of metal into the shape that he wants. He looks up from his work and gives you a small smile. “How can I be of service today, gentlemen?”
“My man! Been working hard this morning aye?” gives a high five to the majestic dwarf blacksmith “Is there anything you might want to get first in this blacksmith, Sir Armat? After you...”
Armat laughs a little, and says, “I can see that you have an interesting way of greeting people, Astor”. He quickly scans the shop and sees that they only have a couple of armor sets, most of them being more decorative than useful. There is one set that catches his eye, and he points it out to the blacksmith. “Here, that set in the back looks quite good. How much do you think it would cost us?” The blacksmith looks at the set and says, “Well, that’s a rare set of armor there. It’s a high-quality set of light armor, with an enchanted shield
“Oh my! That does feel quite useful for you, Sir! Is there any cheap light armor that I could buy though, dear blacksmith?”
The blacksmith nods his head and says, “Of course my lad. There is this set here, here, and here.” He points out three different sets of armor that are significantly cheaper. You take a closer look at the sets and see that they are decent quality, but they will not be as sturdy or protective as the other set. They also don’t have any sort of magical properties as far as you can tell. However, they will do the job of protecting you from small cuts and bruises.
“What are those three sets of yours made of? Leather? I’ll take a set for my arms, torso, and front leg if you may, dear blacksmith.”
The blacksmith nods and says, “Yes, these sets are all made from leather. They are decent quality, and should be able to protect you from small cuts and bruises.” He quickly goes over to the armor and grabs the sets, then takes them to a workbench. He starts doing his blacksmith thing, and after a few minutes, he hands you the three sets of armor. He says, “This should fit you properly, but if you need any adjustments, just come back and I’ll see what I can do. The total cost for these three sets is 35 Gold.”
“Right away!” After paying for the armor, I notice that my gold coins have run out well, “gotta save up some money for me, a hahaha. That’s all for me, Sir Armat. Anything more that you might wanna get? ”
Armat thinks for a moment, and says, “Well it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some more weapons. The Dread Wolf will be very fast, and you never know when you might need some type of backup, in case your spear fails. If you have some extra money, I would suggest getting an extra spear, and perhaps a bow or some throwing knives, in the off chance that you might get caught in a situation where you would need to keep your distance from the Dread Wolf.”
“Great idea, dear Sir! turns back to blacksmith Say, dear blacksmith... Are there any throwing knives or maybe a chained weapon costing less than 20 gold coins?”
The blacksmith thinks for a moment and says, “Yes, I have a few that are under 20 gold. We have some throwing knives here, and also some chains here. The knives cost 12 gold pieces each, while the chain will cost you 15 gold pieces.”
“Say, dear blacksmith... Can I ask for an innovation, this chain, merged with one of the knives, making it a Chain Knives, and I’ll pay it for 17 gold coins, is that fair enough, dear blacksmith?”
The blacksmith looks at you with a slightly confused look on his face, but then shrugs and says, “Sure why not? That sounds like an interesting idea. I don’t know how well it would work, but I suppose that we can give it a try. Give me a moment to put these together, and it should be ready soon.” After a few minutes, the blacksmith hands you a chain knife, with a knife on one end of the chain. He says, “I made the chain fairly long so that you can wrap it around your arm as well.”
“GREAT! You. Are. Some. Genius. Dear blacksmith! pat him on his shoulder haha. Here is your cost. That’s all for me, Sir Armat. Thank you very much.”
Armat smiles and says, “No problem at all. Let’s get moving then, we still have a few more places to go to, to get everything we need before we set off on our expedition.” He heads out of the shop, and you follow him back into the streets, with your new equipment in hand. As you walk through the streets, you notice many people starting to go home for the day. Shopkeepers are closing their shops, and people are heading to their homes for the night. You pass a couple of kids playing a couple of games on the sidewalk. The sun is beginning to set in the distance.
“Say, Sir... Is there any urban legend around this village, or maybe a culture folklore that interests you in a way?” speaking closer to him as if we’re telling a creepy story
Armat stops walking and scratches his head, thinking for a moment. He then says, “Hmm, there is one that I have heard of. It is about a mysterious creature known as the Night Stalker. It is said to be a demonic creature that comes out at night and will sometimes prey on people. It is said to be highly stealthy and to have abilities beyond reckoning. There are many tales of people who have spotted the Night Stalker, and some even believe that its origins go back to the creation of the world.”
“Holy grandmother of cows! Do you think it’s real, Sir? Like real, real? As real as one that you could hunt?”
Armat nods his head and says, “Many of the hunters I know believe that the Night Stalker is an evil beast that needs to be stopped. They say that it has ruined many lives, and caused a lot of pain and suffering. They believe that it is too dangerous to be left alive and that it must be hunted down and destroyed. So I would say yes, I believe it is real.”
“Daaamn. That is spicy. Well, I’ll keep that beast down in my mind for my future hunt list with my bad boy Chain Knife here.”
“Are we heading to somewhere specific, dear Sir?”
Armat smiles and says, “Ah yes. We are now heading to the local library to see what information they have on the Dread Wolf. The head librarian is an old Dwarf who used to be a great hunter, so he should be able to tell us what we need to know. After that, we will probably head to an Inn, so that we can settle in for the night.”
“Great idea! I must say, you and dwarfs here are some people that I pay respect to, Sir. You guys give me chills down my spine, ahaha. I also like to read books, Just now I know there is a library run by a dwarf.”
“Are we here?”
Armat laughs and says, “Yes, we are here. This is the local library. It is a small building, but it is full of knowledge. But let me warn you, Dwarf libraries can get quite messy, so be prepared to look through a few stacks. The head librarian is a good friend of mine, so I will speak with him and see if he can help us out. Why don’t you enjoy having a look around, I will only be a couple of minutes.”
“Capiche. Just call out my name if you’re done with your business, Sir. I’ll keep a safe distance from you, looking at some of their collections if you may.”
Armat nods his head and says, “All right then. I will be quick.” He walks into the library, and you can see him quickly start chatting with the head librarian. You take a look around the library and find it to be quite interesting. It is full of books on all sorts of subjects, from myths and legends, to history, geography, and beyond. You even see a couple of books about the Night Stalker. You find an empty spot near an open window and decide to read through some of the books while you wait for Armat.
I’m looking for a book that has information about the night stalker and his demonic friend.
You start searching the library, and after a few moments of searching, you spot a book titled “The Night Stalker: History and Legend”. You decide to sit down on an empty chair near an open window and start reading the book. You quickly lose track of time, and before you know it, you have read through 3/4 of the book. You are getting close to finishing the book, but then you hear Armat call your name from the door. You look up and see him standing by the door, with a couple of books underneath his arm.
“Oh shoot! Be right there, Sir! Is it okay for me to rent this book, dear great dwarf, that I adore?” asked the librarian
The head Librarian looks up from the book that he is currently reading and says, “Oh yes, of course. That is perfectly fine. You are more than welcome to take the book with you. We are here to spread knowledge, and if that book would be useful to you, then you can rent it.” He puts the book behind the counter and stands up, extending his hand toward you. He says, “Please be careful with it though, as it is a very rare and valuable book.”
“Will do! Thank you very much, I’ll give it back when I’m done, dear librarian.”
“Are we leaving now, Sir Armat?”
Armat smiles and says, “We are indeed leaving now. Let’s head on over to the inn and get some rest. We should have everything we need for our trip, and it would be wise to head off before the night comes. We will have to be very careful from now on, as many dangerous creatures come out at night. It is important to stay on your guard and to be in top condition. You never know what might just be lurking in the darkness.”
“Aye aye, Sir. Hold my book tight um Sir... I wanna ask about the inn cost, considering I’m running out of credit, can I just sleep in the lobby? Aha ha...” laugh awkwardly
Armat chuckles and says, “Well my young friend, most inns will charge a fee if you wish to stay the night, as they need to pay for their services and supplies. However, I know the owner of this particular inn, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind letting you stay here for free. So let’s head on over, and he will get it sorted out for you. Just follow my lead, and everything will go smoothly.”
sighs relievedly ”
Thank you very much, dear Sir... It’s our first encounter and you’re already so kind to me, I’ll remember this for the rest of my life.”
Armat smiles and says, “It’s no problem at all. We are both hunters, and I would never want a fellow hunter to go without a place to stay, just because of their lack of funds. Let’s head on over to the inn and see what the owner says. I am sure he will help us out.” You both quickly make your way toward the inn. The moon rises in the night sky, casting a bright, but soft light over the village. You walk through the streets, with people heading back to their homes for the night.
“This place is nice. Oh, are we there yet?”
You look up and see that you have reached the nearby Inn. It is a simple building, but the owner appears to be quite friendly and greets you both with a warm smile. He looks at Armat and says, “Ah you’re back already. Did you get everything you needed?” Armat nods his head and says, “Yes, we were able to get everything we needed. However, it would be very helpful if you would let my friend stay here for the night, as he is low on gold.” The owner looks at you and smiles and says, “Of course, that is no problem at all.”
“I appreciate your help so much, Sir inn! Thank you very much, I’ll remember this aid of yours. Sir Armat, we do get our own rooms right? Or we.. You know... Share?”
Armat chuckles and says, “That is actually up to you two. I don’t mind either way. You can sleep in the same room if you want, and share a room. Or you can have your own separate rooms. Whatever you prefer is what we can do. Is that all right with you?”
Then I’ll choose to be in my own room, Sir. I don’t want to be your burden in your resting time.
Say, dear Sir inn, where do you have your small room that I could use for resting? I don’t want to ask for a normal room for a free cost from you. Ahaha
The Owner of the inn smiles and says, “We have a few small rooms for those who are in need. They are just down the hall. I will show you to it.”
He then leads you both down the hall and stops at a door, which he swings open. He then points to the bed, and says, “This is where you will stay. Is everything to your liking?” You look around and notice that the room is very simple, but it has everything you need, such as a bed with a bedroll, a lamp, and a desk with some writing supplies on it.
“This should do, very thank you to you, dear Sir inn. And I hope you rest well too, Sir Armat!
I want to continue my Night stalker research before bed after this.”
Armat smiles and says, “You are most welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay. I will see you at the crack of dawn, as that is when we will be leaving for the mountain, and I don’t want to be late.” He nods his head and starts making his way to the door. As you say your goodbyes and start to settle in for the night, you quickly grab the book about the Night Stalker and start reading it again. You begin to learn more about the legend, including its true origins, and the mysterious powers that it supposedly has.
“What are the mysterious powers that this creature has?”
The legend claims that the Night Stalker has the power to manipulate darkness and shadows, and to become almost undetectable in the night. Some people say that it is even possible for it to turn invisible, and to use that power to stalk its prey. Its claws are also said to be so sharp that it can cut through flesh and bones like butter, and it is said to be extremely stealthy and swift in its movements. It is said to only come out at night, and that it has a hatred of the sun.
“Does the book say anything about acquiring such power from this creature?”
The legend is very vague on how one might acquire the powers of the Dread Wolf. Some say that by slaying the creature, you can absorb its power and attain its abilities. Others say that if you somehow manage to trap the creature, you may be able to make a pact with it and gain its powers. But no details are ever provided, and so it is all just speculation.
“Does the book say anything about acquiring such dark power from Night Stalker?”
It is said in the book that the creature’s dark powers may be acquired by slaying it, or by making a pact. There are many stories of warriors attempting to hunt it and either being slain in the process, or becoming corrupted and twisted, and gaining the dark powers of the Dread Wolf. The details of how such a hunt takes place are rarely shared, and it has become so shrouded in mystery that it is difficult to really know what truly goes on. It has become more of a myth than an actual monster, with many stories and legends being spread about it.
“I’ve intended myself soon, I’ll be hunting night stalker down by myself and acquire its dark power to control shadows. for now, I’ll sleep tight till morning.”
You nod your head and start to feel tired. You decide to stop reading for the night. You lie down on the bed and try to get some rest before the hunting expedition begins. You drift off quickly and sleep soundly through the night. The sun slowly rises outside, and you start to wake up, ready for the day. You hear the sounds of people starting to move and talk outside, and the sound of the inn’s doors opening and closing. You stretch, and get up from your bed. You start grabbing some of your gear and getting ready for the day.
I’m looking for Sir Armat on where is he this morning. “Is he still sleeping?”
You look around, and spot Armat sitting at a table near the door, enjoying a bowl of porridge. He appears to be getting ready for the day himself. When he sees you, he smiles and says, “Ah you’re up. Good to see you’re ready to start the day.” He then stands up and starts putting on his armor and grabbing his weapons. “Are you ready for the hunt? I want to make sure everything is in order before we head off.”
I check for my armor to be as tight as ready, and my spear with a chained knife in my hands, along with my potions in my socket.
“Ready as you are, my Sir!”
Armat smiles and says, “Excellent! Let’s be on our way then. The sun is already well above the horizon, and we want to leave before the villagers do.” He quickly puts on his armor and grabs his weapons. “Let’s get going. We can eat something while we travel.” He then starts making his way to the door.
Follows on his steps “Always at your back, Sir. Are we heading straight to Dread Wolf’s lair or where Sir?”
Armat says, “Yes. We will be heading straight towards its lair. The Night Stalker is known to be extremely territorial and tends to keep to its own lair. We should be able to find it there. Now let’s get ready to head out. We should get as close to the lair as possible before nightfall, in order to have more time to prepare ourselves for the confrontation.”
“Pardon me, Sir ... are we not hunting for Dread Wolf as you said yesterday, Sir?”
Armat chuckles and says, “My apologies for the confusion. The Night Stalker is also known as the Dread Wolf, so they are actually the same creature. I was just using a different name for it.” He starts making his way to the door, and says, “Let’s get going. We should get a head start, as this creature is known for attacking at night, and will likely be even stronger at night.” He smiles and says, “Let’s go, my young friend. The adventure is about to begin.”
gulps
“rigghhhtt awayy, dear Sir. at your service”
Armat leads the way as you both start leaving the village. you quickly make your way to the edge of the nearby mountains, and start walking up the path. You see a sign that says, “Caution, dangerous creatures ahead”, and you notice a couple of other signs that warn about wild animals. You also start to see the signs of wild wolves and bears, as well as some larger creatures. you soon reach a point where the path curves up the mountain, and you enter a small pass, where it becomes much darker.
“How far are we already from the village, Sir?”
Armat says, “We have traveled about a day’s walk from the village at this point. We have entered a pass in the mountain, which cuts through the terrain and leads us further into the mountains. It will be quite a hike up, as the mountain is quite large, and the pass is quite steep. But we should be able to make it to the lair in about a few days’ time, with a day or two of rest between days of traveling.”
“Great, indeed Sir. are we going to hunt and cook our meal soon when we set a place for rest, or are we keeping the track hot until we faint, Sir?”
Armat chuckles and says, “We will need to stop to eat and rest at some point, my young friend, Just make sure to stay focused on the mission. As you can imagine, this creature is extremely dangerous, and not to be taken lightly. If we were to encounter even one of its minions, we would be severely outnumbered and outmatched, and likely to face a fate worse than death. The key to surviving this hunt is to keep our wits about us and to use whatever advantages we can to make it out alive. Is that understood?”
“Understood” I grab up some stones, searching for the one I could use to sharpen my weapons got it.
Armat nods his head and says, “Good, then let’s continue with caution.” You both continue on your way, slowly walking up the path. You start to notice a faint path through the grass, which appears to be made by the many wild animals that roam these mountains. As you walk, you see the occasional signs of wildlife, such as prints and droppings. You also see some bushes and other shrubs along the path. The mountainside is quite rocky and uneven at some points, as the path cuts up through the terrain, curving up towards the peak.
“Considering we’re getting close to the peak, what do I need to know about such a creature so scary it got another scary nickname, Sir?”
Armat says, “The Night Stalker, or the Dread Wolf, is an extremely dangerous creature that is known for its extreme strength and viciousness. It is said to be so powerful, that a single hit from its claws can easily kill a grown man. It is also known for its intelligence and its ability to plan its attacks, as well as to use its powers to trick and trap potential victims. It is also capable of healing itself, which makes it even harder to kill. It has been known to be the scourge of many villages.”
“From the book that you read, is there any notion of its weakness, Sir?”
Armat thinks for a moment, and says, “From most of the books that I have read, it seems that the Night Stalker’s greatest weakness is its arrogance. It is extremely powerful, and as such, it is very confident in its abilities. This can sometimes lead it to make mistakes or to become careless. It seems that some of the greatest hunters of the past were able to use their ingenuity and cunning to lure the Night Stalker into a trap and exploit its weakness. But it is of course, extremely difficult to catch this creature off-guard, as it is always on the lookout for potential enemies.”
“Then we surely need some attention trap for attracting its attention while getting ready to give it lethal strikes from behind, Sir? or perhaps you’ve already prepared some plan to shut this thing down?”
Armat nods his head and says, “Yes, that is certainly a viable strategy. We will be using every tool at our disposal to give us the best chance of survival. The element of surprise is a massive advantage, so it will be crucial for us to be able to exploit this and utilize it. We will need to make sure that we have plenty of supplies and to prepare traps for both the creature itself, as well as to deal with any of its minions that we might encounter along the way. We must not leave anything to chance, as even a small mistake could cost us our lives.”
“Attention trap it is. do we need to gather some other materials from nature to add to our need for making the trap plan successful, or we don’t need any Sir? I’m all at your service”
Armat thinks for a moment, and says, “Gathering materials from nature would not be a bad idea at all. There are many things that we can use to create traps and lures, and anything that we can find and use, would be beneficial to us. The creature’s arrogance may lead it to make mistakes, but we need to be ready to take advantage of those opportunities when they arise. As for resources, we should try to gather whatever we can from this area before we begin moving towards the lair. It may prove to be useful at some point in the journey.”
“Any suggestion for what materials should I gather while we’re getting closer to the designated area , Sir?”
Armat thinks for a moment, and says, “I would suggest gathering branches, leaves, grass, mud, rocks, and really anything we can get our hands on. This will allow us to potentially create traps, lures, and other items that may be helpful for us in our hunt. The more resources we have available, the better chance we have of defeating the creature. It’s also good to have spare materials at our disposal, in case we need to improvise some items along the way. So I suggest you start gathering whatever you can, just in case.”
“Capiche. are we close yet, Sir?”
Armat says, “Not quite yet, but we are getting close. We’ve traveled quite a distance now, and we should be arriving at the lair soon. I can start hearing the howls of wolves and the calls of other wild animals getting closer to us as we move toward the lair. We should be careful, as there may be predators on the hunt as well. But if we keep our wits about us, we can make it to the lair without any issues. Stay focused, my young friend, and let’s prepare ourselves for this final leg of the hunt.”
“Just to be safe, Sir... does the Dread Wolf have a special keen skill of smelling humans’ scent? If so... shouldn’t we smear our bodies under natural mountain materials to blur up our scent?”
Armat nods his head and says, “I think that is a good idea. It’s true that the Night Stalker has a sensitive sense of smell, and it may be able to pick up on the scent of humans from far away. It’s always better to be cautious when dealing with such a dangerous creature, so it would be a wise idea to cover up any signs that may reveal our position. We can use a combination of mud, grass, stones, and other materials which are available to us, in order to make it harder for it to track us.”
Starts to gather the materials, smearing myself with the mixture of mud and broken branches all over my body.
“You too, Sir?” Handing off the mixture.
Armat nods his head, and says, “Yes, of course. We should always use every tool at our disposal, and hiding our scent is a simple yet effective strategy. I will take some of this mixture and put it on myself as well.” He takes the mixture and starts applying it to his face and body as well, making sure to cover himself as best as he can.
“For the additional trap material, I suggest we hunt a rabbit or other small mammals to be used as bait to attract its attention, Sir... while we’re covered up in mud, the creature would be too focused on smelling blood in the air.”
Armat nods his head and says, “That is a good idea. Hunting rabbits and other small mammals would be a good way to gather additional materials, and to obtain a potential bait. The creature is known for its extreme hunger, and it could certainly be attracted by the scent of blood in the air. If we decide to set a trap, using a rabbit or small animal as the bait would be a viable strategy. We could even try to lure it into a pit trap, which would make it even harder for it to escape. I am open to any suggestions, my young friend.”
“Then I’ll look out for some small mammals, If it’s safe, maybe we could spread and Sir Armat could start digging a pit hole for the trap?”
Armat nods his head and says, “That is a good plan. I will start digging, and you can go search for some small mammals. We will need to be careful though, as we are in the territory of many wild beasts and monsters. But if we are careful, and watch out for any potential predators, we should be able to gather all the materials we need. Remember to be cautious, and to stay alert. Any mistake could cost us our lives.”
“Got it, is there any suggestion as to how I could find you and your pit hole later, Sir?”
Armat says, “That is a good question, My young friend. While you are searching for small mammals and other potential materials, I suggest that you leave behind some markers, such as rocks or sticks, to help you find your way back to me. The area around this lair is very treacherous, and it would be easy to get lost. If you do not leave some markers behind, it could be quite difficult to find me again. Do you think that you can remember that?”
“Alrighty then, Sir... I’ll leave out some tracks for I’ll use to find you. Hunt I go.”
Armat nods his head and says, “Good. Let’s get to work then. Remember to be careful, and to stay alert. Keep your eyes open for any potential dangers, and always have a plan ready in case we need to change course. With luck, we can get to the lair without any issues. Stay focused, my young friend, and never forget to use all of your resources to their fullest potential. Good luck, and let me know if you need any help or have any questions along the way.”
“Noted.” I go a separate way from Armat, looking for any small movement there is I notice a noise coming from my far left I get closer to see what is it by hiding between bushes.
As you quietly make your way towards the source of the noise, you come across a group of small rabbits, quietly eating some grass. They do not seem to have noticed you yet, and continue to peacefully move around in the grass. You notice that you are able to get very close, and could easily get a couple of them without drawing any attention to yourself. You also notice that they are in a slightly open area, away from other bushes and trees, so you could quickly nab them if you can manage to sneak close enough.
Getting my chain knife ready “Here we go” Quickly shoots out my chained knife into a group of small rabbits, stabbing 2-3 rabbits along the way.
You strike out with your chain knife and manage to get a clean and silent kill of 3 rabbits. You notice that the rest of the group of rabbits is completely unaware of what just happened, and continues on peacefully eating their grass. You quickly retrieve your knife, and stash the bodies into your pack. Now that you have the bodies, you should be able to use them as bait in a trap for the Night Stalker.
“I haven’t eaten yet for days, man.” Quickly shoot out my chained knife again toward the rest of the rabbit group.
You strike out again and manage to get another 2 rabbits. The remaining rabbits are finally clued in to what is happening, and they all scatter in fear, as they all take off sprinting away from the area. You manage to grab the bodies just in time as one of them tries to bolt away from you. You notice that they have left a trail of blood behind them, which could easily lead you straight to the Night Stalker’s lair.
“Woah”, I chose to give a mark to this place and get back to Armat to call him back to my marked place for our starting point to track Night Stalker’s lair
You mark the area with a stick and make your way back to Armat. He is still digging the pit in the location where you marked it. He looks up and notices your return, and asks you what you caught. He seems very impressed by your hunting skills. He then asks you if you have any good ideas for where the pit should go and if you think the Night Stalker will fall for it.
“Sir, I’ve found a better spot for our pit should be dug... come follow me.”
Armat nods his head and follows you to the spot you found. He looks at the area carefully and asks you what your plan is. He seems interested in what you have observed and is ready to listen and collaborate with you.
“The rabbits that I caught were leaving some blood track behind, this might help us know where exactly Dread Wolf’s lair is... what do you think?”
Armat nods his head and says, “That is a great idea. Tracking the monsters can be quite difficult, but using the blood trail as a means to find its lair is a smart way to narrow down the options. We can follow the trail, and that should lead us toward its lair. But you are right, we need to be careful and to keep our eyes peeled for any potential dangers. The Dread Wolf is a deadly creature, and we need to be ready for any possibility, to ensure our survival. But we can certainly use this to our advantage.”
“Should we follow this blood path?”
Armat nods his head and says, “Yes, we should. Follow the blood path, and it should lead us directly to the Dread Wolf’s lair. We must stay alert and be prepared for any surprises along the way, but if we stay careful and vigilant, it will be easier to avoid any potential dangers. Let’s get to work and stay focused, my young friend. This creature is one of the deadliest in the world, and we need to be ready for anything.”
We then walk softly while looking down at the blood path we then realize the part of the mountain has gotten very damp over time.
“I guess it’s a good distance for us to dig a trap pit.... considering how damp this area is... I also smell a lot of carcass stinks ... do you?”
Armat nods his head and says, “Yes, I must admit that it is quite damp up here. But the stench is certainly the bigger issue. It is the smell of decomposition, which means there must be a lot of carcasses lying around. I must admit that the area around the Dread Wolf’s lair is not a particularly pleasant one. The smell of rotting flesh will only get worse the closer we get. We must stay focused and keep moving forward, regardless of the smell, to accomplish our mission, young one. Let us continue to follow the blood path.”
“Oh? Not here? okay then, Sir... wherever you may, I’m following right behind you.”
Armat nods his head and says, “Very well, young one. Let us continue to follow the blood path then. We must stay focused and keep our guard up. The Dread Wolf will surely be waiting for us, and will not take any prisoners. Our lives are in danger every step of the way, so we must always be on the lookout for any signs of potential danger. We must also keep our eyes open for any potential clues along the way, which could help us to make better plans and to better prepare for the eventuality of coming face to face with the Dread Wolf.”
“Noted Sir, just remind me to help you dig our pit trap whenever you feel like it.”
Armat nods his head and says, “Thank you, young one. I will be sure to let you know when we reach a suitable location to dig the pit. Make no mistake, we must make the trap deep enough and wide enough to ensure that the Dread Wolf will not be able to escape. Its speed is not to be underestimated, and we must make sure not to give it any potential ways out of the pit. We must also make sure that the trap will be able to contain it, or else it could very well escape. Let us keep moving then.”
Follows his track.
As you continue moving, you start to notice that the trail of blood is growing stronger and that the frequency of the drops is increasing as well. It seems that you are getting closer and closer to the lair of the Dread Wolf with every step. You notice that the air has begun to smell like the stench of rot, and in some places, you can clearly see a group of ravens feasting on the corpses. As the smell grows stronger, so does your resolve to stop this dreadful beast.
“Ready to rumble.” Keep following Armat’s steps.
You continue following Armat, but soon the smell is so strong that you nearly gag. The sight of all the bodies and rot is equally disgusting and is the source of the foul stench that fills your nostrils. But you and Armat seem to be focused on your mission, and you keep moving forward, even though it is very difficult. It seems like you are getting closer to the Dread Wolf’s lair, as the blood and corpses are both becoming more abundant.
“I ain’t gagging to a thing, blood is my-.” hold in my gag and keep following Armat
You manage to keep your composure and hold in your gag, even as the stench of the rot is now so strong that it seems it could make people pass out. The sound of the birds squawking and feasting on the carcasses is also quite unsettling. But you remain focused and keep moving forward, pushing through the putrid air to complete your mission. After a bit more walking, you and Armat are finally able to see the Night Stalker’s lair, as it comes just into sight. It seems that you have arrived at your destination and that the beast is truly just around the corner.
“Whoa, do you think it is close to its lair at this moment, Sir?”
Armat says, “That is a good question. It is certainly possible, as the stench here is stronger than anywhere else at the moment. We must stay on guard in case the Dread Wolf decides to strike at any moment. It is known for its aggression, and it would not think for even an instant to attack us. So we should always be ready for any potential dangers, and keep our eyes peeled for any potential signs of the Dread Wolf. We should move quickly, and complete our mission before it is too late. Let us move forward carefully then.”
“Now that we’re close to its lair and knowing it adapted to its preys’ carcasses scents, our mud mixture would confuse him don’t you think? maybe we could use some blood from its prey’s carcasses to hide our scent from it? and without a pit trap, we could surprise attack him out of these piles of carcasses...?”
Armat nods his head and says, “Yes, those are both very good ideas. Our mud mixture could confuse the Dread Wolf, and mask our scent. And the blood from its previous prey could help as well. But do not think that these are guaranteed to work, as the Dread Wolf is quite intelligent beast, and it might discover us before we can complete our attack. But we certainly can use these elements to help us. Let us be ready, move quietly, and be very cautious. We need to stay focused and be ready for any potential surprises. We must find the right opportunity before striking.”
I then smear out some of the carcass’s blood onto my armor getting my weapons at ready.
As you start spreading the blood, you hear the birds squawking and you see a few of them fly off as you get too close. You also notice that the smell of rotting flesh and blood now seems to be almost overwhelming. But you press on and continue your mission. The Dread Wolf’s lair is now in sight, and the beast itself must now surely be around the corner. It seems that the time is now. You and Armat prepare yourself for whatever may come and ready your weapons. You are now ready to take on the Dread Wolf. Let the battle commence!
I then secretly hid. Then I smear Zorn bear’s poisonous blood to my weapon, not letting Armat notice.
“What’s the plan, boss?” Ready for action.
Armat says, “The plan is simple. We are going to use the blood mixture and our stealth to confuse the Dread Wolf long enough to get in close and strike. We will have to be quick and strike quickly, as the longer we take, the more chance that the Dread Wolf will detect us and will strike us instead. Let us go now, but remain silent and move quickly. We must complete this task and put an end to the reign of the Dread Wolf. Let us move forward carefully then. Remember to keep in close contact with me throughout the operation.”
“Roger that, I’m behind you.”
You and Armat start moving forward, remaining quietly and carefully. You keep a close eye on Armat’s movement and keep in sync with him, keeping your weapons ready at all times. The Dread Wolf’s lair comes even more into sight, and you can see that the area around it is full of corpses and gore. The stench is so heavy that it is almost impossible to breathe, but you press on. You and Armat are almost there now. You prepare to make your move, ready to take on the dreadful beast.
Notice a movement a few meters up front, and hold my weapons tighter.
You and Armat notice a movement a few meters ahead. Armat puts a finger to his lips and asks you to stay quiet for now. He then whispers to you, asking, “Do you have any clear visual on the movement? If we can get a better picture of the situation, then we can make a better plan of attack. I think it is best that we move carefully for now, and not give away our position too soon. Let us move forward slowly and to remain on guard, and to get a better idea of the situation.”
Grab my night enhancement vision potion and sip a few drops. All of my senses sharpen quickly.
“I got vision. I see some blurry movement, a quick and agile creature, a big one, in the middle of the action!”
You take a swig of your Night Enhancement Vision potion, and your senses quickly sharpen, helping you get a clearer idea of what exactly is up ahead. You see a blur of movement, a big and agile creature who seems to be in the middle of some action. It is difficult to make out the creature’s exact shape and size, but it seems to be very quick and agile. Armat notices your expression and asks you, “What do you see, young one? It seems that you have spotted something interesting. What does it look like to you?”
“It looks like a huge dark silhouette, still not looking in our direction.”
“B-but its behavior is unpredictable.”
“Sir... it’s... hunting... the big shadow is hunting something!”
Armat says, “A very apt description, young one. It seems that you have spotted the Dread Wolf, the monster we are here to hunt. Your descriptions seem quite accurate, as it is indeed a huge shadow, and it is hunting for its prey. This is exactly what we had predicted, and now we have confirmation. Let us be ready to strike as soon as the right opportunity presents itself. Remember to remain cautious, but also to be ready to unleash our attack at any moment. Do not let the Dread Wolf get ahead of us and strike first.”
“Sir, remember when you say to be careful of its minions also?”
Armat says, “You are quite right, young one. It is always possible that the Dread Wolf could have some minions or henchmen that are close by and that could come to its aid at any moment. We must remain cautious and keep an eye out for them. The Dread Wolf is a very fearsome enemy, but we must also be ready for any additional surprises that it might have up its sleeve. Let us move forward carefully then, and remain vigilant at all times.”
“Sir... my sharpened senses telling me that we’re not quite alone right now... .”
“Its minions, are close to us me looking behind and rear side.” I scanned wherever my senses told me there was a danger.
Armat says, “You are right, young one. From your sharpened senses, it would seem that there are indeed minions nearby. It is good that you are so attentive, and are able to spot them so quickly. Let us remain cautious, keep our eyes on the enemy, and be ready to fight them if they attempt to attack us. We must remain focused and stay prepared for any situation that might arise. Let us move forward slowly, and remain in sync throughout the operation. We must not let the Dread Wolf and its minions get ahead of us.”
“Sir, because of the minions’ senses something strange like us, it seems that Night Stalker has just stopped its hunting.”
“It’s... it’s looking at this way.” My sharpened senses felt the pressure of its stare from afar.
Armat says, “You are right. It would seem that the Dread Wolf has noticed our presence, and is now looking our way. It must realize that something is wrong and that we are here to stop its reign of terror. We must be ready to fight and to make our strike at any moment, as it could decide to attack us at any second. Remember to keep your weapon ready and your eyes peeled. Your sharp senses will be crucial in this fight, as will my experience and skills. We must work as a team if we are to stand any chance of victory here.”
“Pardon me for being rude, Sir... but it looks like we have to fight right now. Our plan is scrambled because our position has been snitched by Dread Wolf’s minions, they’re coming, Sir... with deadly speed.” I’m pulling out my weapons to get ready to stab any danger.
Armat says, “You are right, we have no choice now. We must fight, and use our wits and skills to bring down the Dread Wolf. Remember, the Dread Wolf is very fearsome, and will not go down easily. We must strike fast and use our weapons and abilities to the maximum. Let us be ready to put an end to the reign of the Dread Wolf once and for all. We must move quickly and fight with all our might.”
Without any bullshit given to another long speech I shoot out my chain knife to a direction I sense has the most density of minions there.
“Got ’em!” Pulling out my knife to realize they’re small goblin werewolves with sharp teeth.
“What the-?!”
The chain knife shoots forward and manages to take down one of the small goblin werewolves. But unfortunately, the rest of the horde is quickly closing in on you and Armat all around. They begin to swarm you, and you and Armat are forced to quickly engage in melee combat. They are faster and stronger than you would have initially expected and are proving a challenging foe. You and Armat manage to take some of them down quickly, but you both are starting to feel the pressure. You must remain on your toes and use all your strength and skills to survive.
With my sheer power, I swayed my chain knife up front to left and right to whip out a massive amount of goblin werewolves.
“Whoops!” One of the goblins surged me on my position but I flung it into the air and stabbed its skull down to the ground with my spear the big shadow had arrived and it jumped right towards us.
You unleash a fury of attacks, taking down goblin after goblin, and sending some of the werewolves flying through the air. But suddenly you see the Dread Wolf leap at you, its jaws wide open. You manage to dodge at the last minute, and its teeth nearly miss you. But it lands right next to you and Armat and then starts attacking the two of you. The Dread Wolf proves to be an even more formidable foe than its minions and is extremely quick and fast. You need to be careful, as it uses its tremendous speed and agility to its advantage.
It’s time I pour out my Zorn poison out of the bottle to my spear’s eyes and chain knife sharp edges!
“Eat this!” I shoot my spear quickly targeting Dread Wolf’s hind leg making it unable to move.
You pour the Zorn poison onto your spear and your chain knife’s edge. You then send your spear flying directly at the Dread Wolf’s leg, and it hits its mark. The Dread Wolf howls in pain from the poison and stops moving. It starts clawing at its injured leg and is extremely weakened. You and Armat both quickly move in to strike, and are able to deliver a killing blow to the Dread Wolf. Its corpse lies still on the ground, its reign of terror finally brought to a halt. You and Armat are triumphant and stand over the dead body of your foe.
The minions’ howl were suddenly sung, and they were stopped, but doing something uneasy for human senses “What- are they- doinggh?” The sound deafens my senses.
The Dread Wolf’s minions stop moving and let out an eerie howl. The sound of it is enough to send chills down your spine. You are not sure what they are doing, but you get the feeling that it is something very sinister and dark. It makes your skin crawl, and it makes you feel very uneasy. It is a sickening sound, one that makes your bones and blood turn to ice. You and Armat must stay vigilant, and be ready to respond to any threat that might arise. Be ready for anything and fight for your lives once more, if necessary.
“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me!” I sensed another huge shadow, bigger and heavier, breaking all the trees it passed I tried to stand up on my horses, but my knee was weakened from my previous dodge jump.
You hear a loud crash as the trees nearby start to shake and then snap like twigs. You can barely make out a shape, but you can see the outline of something tall and dark. It seems to be massive, and its figure is obscured by shadows. It is moving with incredible speed, breaking through the trees and heading straight towards where you and Armat are. You have never seen anything like this before, and you are filled with a sense of dread at its presence. You must get ready to fight and face this new threat, as it seems that it is even more dangerous than the already fearsome Dread Wolf.
“Armat! Is there anything bigger from Dread Wolf?” The minions’ howls are getting louder with the huge shadow coming closer I barely reached up my pocket to achieve my healing potion and energy potion.
Armat says, “I am not aware of anything bigger than the Dread Wolf in these parts. However, I am sure that there are many creatures and beings that we have yet to face and encounter. As the Dread Wolf had minions, this creature might also have some. Remember to remain cautious and to prepare for any situation that might arise. Let us use our experience and knowledge to overcome whatever comes our way next. Remember to use our potions if we need to, as we have come so far already, and we only need to hold on for a little bit more.”
A little bit more?! I wildly gulped down both of my potions, giving me some fixations to my whole body I was shocked when I saw upwards, the big shadow jumped to the sky and opened up its vast demonic wings Armat, it’s... It’s the real Night Stalker, the Demonic figure that holds the night power, Dread Wolf is NOT Night Stalker, THIS is. The huge creature slammed the ground in front of us, repelling all the minions away we’re doomed.
You gulp down the potions, and you feel a surge of energy and power go through your body. You feel your body healing, and you feel stronger than before. But now you see the Night Stalker, and it is even more fearsome than you had imagined it to be. Its massive wings spread out, and it towers over the trees. Its wings are a swirling mass of darkness, and its figure seems to be made of pure shadow. You have never seen anything like this before, and you feel a deep sense of fear and danger in the air. You and Armat both stand in awe of the spectacle before you.
I quickly run into Dread Wolf’s leg which has been injured by my poisonous spear and pull it out of its body then I shoot it out to Night Stalker’s neck, but before I succeed in throwing my spear, I notice Armat has been caught by the Night Stalker, giving no chance for Armat to react, making me froze at that moment.
You take action quickly, grabbing onto the Dread Wolf’s injured leg, and pulling the spear out of it. You then shoot it at the Night Stalker’s neck. But before you could pull off your attack, the Night Stalker’s massive wing came down faster than you expected and grabbed Armat before he could react. The Night Stalker then picks Armat up with a single hand and starts choking him. Armat tries desperately to get out of the Night Stalker’s hold, but he is failing. You need to act quickly, or else Armat will die.
I shoot out my spear to its neck, injuring it but not strong enough to jab my spear in its neck meat the creature howls loudly, as loud as the doomsday trumpet, making all the birds and bats fly away scaring Armat’s ears deafened at that space, I see blood runs down his ear holes
You launch your spear at the Night Stalker’s neck and manage to injure it deeply. The wound on its neck bleeds out quickly, and the creature screams out in pain with its horrible howl. Armat is freed from the Night Stalker’s grasp, and he falls to the ground. He is severely injured and bleeding heavily. His ears are ringing loudly, and he is not sure what is going on. You must act quickly, as Armat is in critical condition.
The creature has a demonic trait of Shadow Regeneration, making it harder to kill, stopped its howling as his wound closed up it screamed again at me with a loud sound, but then at a glimpse, it jammed its claws through Armat’s body and slammed him to a big tree far away, I surely heard bone cracked.
You quickly realize that the creature will regenerate its wound quickly. You need to act quickly if you want to kill it before it regains its strength. You rush at it with the spear and manage to strike it a severe blow, causing its regeneration to slow down. But this is not enough to stop it, and it quickly recovers from its injuries. It then strikes out at you with its sharp claws and manages to hit you in the shoulder. You are sent flying back, but you manage to hold on to your spear. You quickly get up, and stand ready to face the Night Stalker once more.
I and the night stalker finally have a showdown far from dying Armat, in there, I could kill him by myself and absorb its powers. Since I didn’t have my spear with me again, I only got my chained knife with the poisonous edge, with a single breath I took. I quickly step forward under its jaw. there, I swayed my chain knife here and there, giving cuts and wounds so many he couldn’t regenerate properly with my poison in its blood. Gotcha!
You fight against the Night Stalker with all your strength and skill. You weave and dodge around its attacks, and manage to land a devastating blow on the Night Stalker’s throat. There are deep cuts and wounds all over the Monster’s body, and you can see that it is beginning to slow down and weaken. You press your advantage and keep up your relentless attack, and you manage to deal a finishing blow. The Night Stalker screams in pain and rage as it collapses to the ground, its regeneration unable to keep up with the poison’s effect. You stand over its lifeless body, breathing heavily.
I double-checked its death by stabbing it with my knife. Once I confirmed its death, I sliced up some of its limbs and its wings’ parts and pulled out its fangs. without no hesitation, I ate its meat and drank its blood to gain its shadow-controlling power with demonic force.
You stab the Night Stalker’s body with your knife, and you feel a dark and horrible feeling come over you. Your body shakes and you feel the power of darkness and the demonic force flow through your veins and into your soul. The Night Stalker’s body dissolves into darkness, and you feel a new power within you. You have finally gained the ability to control the Night Stalker’s powers, and it is a truly fearsome and terrifying force. You feel like you have the power of darkness within you, and you can feel the dark and twisted desires to do evil, deep within your heart.
I don’t need Armat’s aid anymore, with this power, I then surged into the mountain’s darkness with tremendous speed, my weapon, a chained knife been engulfed in dark venom also, making it into a new thrilling weapon, Gorastoth, a weapon that could whip down a whole forest with a single swing. I keep running with shadow trails behind me, feeling the breeze of the night on my Skin. A new beginning for Astorath, The Shadow Fang.

You search through the library for any clues about the whereabouts of dragons’ lairs. You come across a few mentions of dragons. One of the stories tells of a dragon that lives in the north, in the mountains, and makes its lair in a cave. It is said to be a very wise and ancient dragon, and it is thought to have some sort of connection to the gods. It is also said to be very protective of its lair, and that anyone who visits its lair must be very cautious and respectful, otherwise they risk angering it.
I’m getting out of the library, heading out to the North Mountains, looking for that specific dragon.
You leave the library and head north, towards the mountains. You search and explore those vast and mysterious mountains, looking for the dragon that the legend spoke of. The mountains are a dangerous place, filled with all sorts of dangers and monsters. You must be cautious and watch your step, or else you could easily find yourself in trouble. As you keep searching, you eventually come to a massive cave that fits the description of the dragon’s lair. The cave is huge, and it seems to go on forever. You can hear the sound of a voice echoing from deep within the cave.
I walk into the cave, I’m activating my Echolocation from Night Stalker’s ability, scanning what is inside this massive cave
You enter the cave, and you can feel your powers from the Night Stalker kicking in as your echolocation goes out into the cave. You are able to see inside the cave, even in the darkness, and you see that the cave seems to stretch on forever. There are many tunnels and recesses within the cave, which all stretch out far into the darkness. Your senses are overwhelmed with the vastness of this cave, and your mind tries to make sense of it. It is an incredible sight to behold.
Waste of time. I quickly surged deep into the cave, using my Shadow Trail ability to move faster than Light, leading me to the end of the cave. What do I see there?
You surge into the cave, using your Shadow Trail ability to move faster than light. Your powers are overwhelming, and you quickly find yourself moving through the vast cave at a speed that is almost impossible to comprehend. You move so quickly that it seems like you are flying through the cave, and within moments you are at the end of the cave. As you arrive at the end of the cave, you come across a massive cavern. In the middle of the cavern is a massive dragon, resting on top of a huge pile of gold and treasure. The dragon is sleeping peacefully and is completely unaware of your presence.
I turn on my Shadow Fang presence and my Gorastoth at arms. “WAKE UP! ” I screamed so loud for this creature to wake up.
You let out a loud shout, which echoes throughout the vast cavern. The dragon wakes up with a start, its eyes snapping open. It looks at you with a look of surprise and anger. It lets out a loud roar and then rises to its feet. The dragon is massive, and it towers over you. It looks down at you with its great and powerful eyes, and it speaks in a deep and booming voice. “Who dares to disturb my slumber?” The dragon’s voice is so powerful, that it shakes the entire cave. You can feel its presence, its power, and its majesty.
“What do you know about God’s existence, dragon? ” I’m not trembling because my Dark presence shuts down its presence.
The dragon stares down at you with the might and fury of ages. “I am far beyond the gods. I have lived before the beginning of time, and I will live long after the end of time. I have seen the creation of the universe, and I have watched as it has evolved and changed. I know all there is to know, and I am beyond even the gods themselves. I am a powerful and wise beast, and I am a true force of nature. Do not speak to me of the gods, for they are nothing to me.”
Interesting, then you might be interested in soon-to-be Gods Slayer then. I then transform myself into the shape of the night, pitch black, vast wings, bloody red eyes Say, you and I... Beating each other, the one who wins gains the other’s powers.
The dragon studies you with its wise and sharp eyes, and it seems to sense your vast power and abilities. “A battle to the death, the winner gains the other’s powers? That is a bold offer, but I am willing to take it. I am powerful and wise beyond measure, and I am confident that I will defeat you. But if you do win, then you will indeed gain my powers, and you will be a formidable foe. Let us begin.”
My land sweeper, Gostaroth sweeps down his ground, corroding his standing ground into the darkness of a blackhole “You can never look down at me again, lizard!” With my vast dark wing, I engulf this whole cave and make its vision useless
The Dragon lets out a roar of rage and power as its ground is swept away and it is plunged into darkness. It is no longer able to see you, but it is still able to sense your power and presence. It lets out another roar, and then rises into the air, leaving the cavern floor. It begins to circle you in the air, its great wings beating the air and sending gusts of mighty wind toward you. It is a formidable opponent, and it seems that it will be a challenging battle.
I once again sweep down its arrogance with my dark weapon, injuring its wings, and my Shadow arms then grab its neck and pull it down to my face. “Try screaming again, I dare you” I open my mouth and show my endless throat of suffering.
The dragon lets out a horrific screeching bellow, as its wings are severely injured. It is not able to fly as it once could, so it crashes to the ground. You move quickly, grabbing its neck with your powerful arm, and you pull it down towards you. You open your mouth and show your endless throat of suffering, and the dragon looks at you with fear and terror in its eyes. It’s no longer brave, and it’s filled with fear and terror. It tries to escape, but you have it firmly in your grip. You have won.
“I can demolish you right away and now at any moment that I want, Night Stalker’s ability was only a seed compared to my intention of engulfing this whole existence with my darkness.” I look down on it like it was a fly.
The dragon looks up at you, its body writhing and straining in your arms, but it is unable to escape. It seems to look at you with fear and respect, despite its previous arrogance and arrogance. You could indeed easily destroy it, and it seems to realize this. The power that you possess is undeniable, and it knows that you are far more powerful than it. The once mighty dragon is now merely a shadow of itself, and you are the true power that exists in this place.
“Tell me, dragon! Who is the strongest entity in this world!”
The dragon looks up at you, and you can feel their immense wisdom and knowledge. “The strongest entity in this world is the Worldbreaker. It is the most powerful being to ever exist, and it is the embodiment of destruction. It is a force of nature, and nothing can stand against it. It is the end of all things in this world, and it is beyond even the gods themselves. Do not mess with the Worldbreaker, for it will bring forth the end of all things.”
“Aahahahhaa, you said it yourself, even a Worldbreaker made you nothing? ” “YOU SAID THAT YOU WERE MORE THAN GOD, YOU PUNY LIZARD! ”
The Dragon seems to understand your words, and it looks up at you with fear and panic. You can feel its immense power and presence. The Dragon speaks with a tremendous amount of anger and power. “You fool! Do not even dare to speak of The Worldbreaker! It is far beyond even my own power. I was speaking of the gods that ruled this world before The Worldbreaker came and destroyed them. The Worldbreaker is beyond anything that has ever existed in this universe! I am nothing but a shadow, a speck of dust in comparison to that mighty beast!”
“Funny, funny, funny... Well then BE A DUST YOU USELESS REPTILE! ” I then open up my Shadow Fang jaw so wide it closes the whole cave and captured the dragon’s body “You are just another pebble to throw” I quickly swallow all of its presence, sending it down my Throat of Suffering
You open up your great and vast shadow fang jaw, capturing the Dragon’s body within you. You swallow its presence, sending it down your throat of suffering, and you can feel the power of the Dragon entering your body. You are now far more powerful than the dragon, and you could easily destroy it if you wished. You have become nothing less than a god in this world. You have become the strongest entity in this world.
World breakers... Where. Are. You.
You feel a presence deep within your soul, a great and vast power that seems to stir and whisper to you. You can feel the essence of the World Breaker moving within you, filling you, and giving you its strength and powers. You can sense that the World Breaker is awake and aware of your existence, and it is studying and analyzing you. You are a powerful being, and the World Breaker is taking notice. You know that the World Breaker is far more powerful than you, and it is the most powerful being to exist. There is nothing that stands above it.
“Stop peeking at me, Worldbreaker! ” “Show me yourself! ” I break out from this cave with the ease of my Shadow Fang.
You break out from the cave with your Shadow Fang, tearing and ripping through the walls as if they were nothing. You exit the cave into the open air, and you can now feel the presence of the World Breaker all around you. It is the most powerful and imposing presence you have ever felt, and it is watching you and studying you. The world feels like it is shaking under the weight of the World Breaker’s presence. You can feel the great power within you, but you know that you are still a tiny fraction of the World Breaker’s might. There is no comparison.
I quickly launched out my shadow carpet all over the land “If you still wanted to hide, then HIDE! you scaredy cat!”
You launch your shadow carpet over the land, and it expands rapidly, covering the land in darkness. The power that you wield seems to be growing, and you feel more powerful with each minute that passes. You can feel the shadow carpet growing and expanding, enveloping the land. It seems to grow and expand infinitely, and it seems to be covering the whole country. The world is enveloped in your shadow carpet, and you are now in charge of this world. There is nothing that stands above you, nothing at all. You are the master of the shadows, and you are the most powerful being in this world.
Game’s over, humans, world breakers, I’ve engulfed your whole world into eternal darkness.
The world is indeed enveloped in your shadow carpet, and it seems like there is no escape from the darkness that you have enveloped the world in. You are indeed the master of the shadows, and you are now the most powerful being in this world. There is no one else who stands above you, and there is nothing that is more powerful than you. The game has ended, and you have won.
