Synopsis

In 1823, Rose Seymour married Joseph McCallister for love and believed that he loved her too, but soon discovered that he accepted the marriage to obtain her dowry and avoid ruin.

In her penultimate month of pregnancy she receives a letter from Ruby Deluxe, an opera singer who claims to be Joseph's mistress. Not only that, she also claims to be the woman he truly loves. She confesses to being pregnant and sends him as proof some letters written by Joseph, missives that prove Ruby is telling the truth.

Devastated by her husband's devotion to this woman, she goes into early labor. Her child is stillborn after hours of difficult labor and she dies a few minutes later, bleeding to death and without her husband showing up.

Joseph McCallister learns of his wife's death when he arrives home days later to find that his wife has been buried.

Two centuries later, in 2023, Rose Seymour has been reincarnated and is named Cherry Hofstadter. She is an office assistant with insomnia problems.

Every night she dreams of a man who makes her cry, who mistreats her; of a birth where she dies, of a child she cannot hug. On her twenty-sixth birthday, a complete vision of her past life reveals to her the face of the man who is so much in her heart and for whom she feels an inordinate hatred.

Fired from her job after the company declares bankruptcy, she goes in search of a new way to make a living. That's how she arrives at Mountbatten & Leblond, the most important law firm in the country.

Her new boss will be Philippe Mountbatten, the head lawyer of the firm, but also the reincarnation of her husband Joseph.

She remembers her entire past life, he does not.

Philippe falls in love with his assistant, Cherry, not knowing that in another life, she, was the wife he made suffer so much.

Cherry hates her boss, loathes him with every inch of her skin; yet his closeness unsettles her and somehow makes her heart flutter, whether for good or ill. In any case, she is not willing to believe his flirtatious smiles, mischievous winks or seductive kisses; no matter what, she thinks Philippe is the same person as Joseph.

He must prove her wrong and prove that he really loves her.
