Start of misfortune
In a neat and empty office like space a tall man walked in wearing a simple black shirt and black pants. His boots made clicking sounds as he walked. He had to tilt his head in order not to hit the roof. His eyes hidden behind his black glasses showed some discomfort. A ball of light that looked like a small star one can see when looking in the sky at night with two cute eyes followed him. Or gave off faint light looking very much like a dreamy decoration.
A voice came from that star or the system. This was a trustee assistant that followed almost everyone in the Main universe port also known as headquarters.
“Host, does your neck hurt? The humans from Euplixus tend to be shorter so the roof is shorter. I can ask the in-charge to change dimensions while you are here.”
The man’s hair is hidden behind a cap and face behind a mask and glasses. He frowned and finally said, “No need. I won't stay here long anyways.”
They finally reached their destination. A short lady wearing neat clothes that were local to Euplixus but still looked very crisp greeted them.
“You are here, sir regulator.” She invited them inside and used a violet coloured screen to adjust the room’s dimensions. While explaining, “As you may have heard the novel world No. Rg884 has a bug sneaking in. We sent several missionaries in but none of them could get rid of it and are currently in a very bad situation. Accordingly to the doctor, they have suffered some mental torture.”
She handed a report to the man, “So sir Joe, we may need a regulator such as you.”
The only thing visible in the man's face when seen from the lady's perspective was Joe’s chin. She heard, “That is what you need. Sending missionaries in a world with a confirmed bug is against the regulations and can be life threatening.”
The lady was a bit embarrassed to be called out for such a thing but she had no intention of avoiding it. “That was a problem on our side. The bug is too cunning and deceived our missionaries into thinking something was wrong with the operation of the world. They were expelled from the world before they could understand the bug’s identity as an intelligent being. Until the last missionary discovered and confronted the bug but was unable to escape during the process having the same fate as the previous missionaries.”
The man nodded looking at the details of the bug and had an idea in his heart, “This should be a person with power exceeding the value his world can handle. He somehow escaped from the main system's sensors. His personality should like playing with others. It hasn't been much time but he has learned considerable things. The first missionary caught some clues for sure but by the last one he has understood his own situation and took initiative in his own hands. He sent the last missionary back on purpose and certainly has mastered some things about space time.”
The system exclaimed, “It has been centuries since we last saw such a thing. To be able to escape the new version of the main system's black household sensors this person is indeed something.”
Joe was noncommittal and said seriously, “Let's start.”
The lady pressed her lips and said with a little uneasiness, “Sir Joe, I advise you to wait. Due to the large number of missionaries sent in, the operation of the world has some problems. It was originally a low level novel world. Not even a completed one, due to large intervention, it is now only possible to reincarnate there and your own body will not be able to be sent in.”
Joe was surprised but didn't take it seriously, “Please bring the equipment and coordinates.”
“If you say so.” The lady admired Joe who was able to do the job of both a regulator and a missionary which only a handful of people could manage. She called her screen and projected the equipment while recalling the equipment. After setting up everything, she did a complicated salute. “May you be safe.” And left.
The system came to life without outsiders, “Joe! We can finally experience things as missionaries! Do you think it will be fun? Joe! Joe! I can see you with the face of a child! Although it's not your own but still! Ahhhh!”
Joe also relaxed considerably and hummed in a softer tone, “Hmm.”
After putting on the equipment and seeing the coordinates the system introduced the plot of the world to him.
“This world is a romance world with a bit of a fantasy. The protagonist is named Sam and was an orphan. He lived a hard working life and gained good friends at school. But their school was involved in a game where they had to face human nature. With the help of his friends the protagonist got rid of the madman behind the game.
He then established his own organization to keep the people who came out of the game in control where he falls in love. A guy was sent as an undercover agent sent by police to monitor them. Then they become good friends.
HOST! This should be a boy's love! Wow! Eh? Then the protagonist finds out the guy is actually a girl and they gradually fall in love. She joins the organization and proves him harmless and important to maintain social order. Slowly his organization got bigger and managed social order He gets recognition and hugs the beauty.
It's not a boy's love, It's cross dressing.
JOE! You'll most likely look handsome if you cross dress. You can even change your body shape to fit the theme host.”
Joe flicked the system, “You're almost turning red from your imagination. It's time to go.”
System giggled with crescent eyes looking more and more like a cute decoration, “Host it's true! Your role in this world is a side character. Remember the one who made the game? That's the one-”
The system's voice faded away. Joe just didn't take the work of missionaries to heart. How difficult can playing a madman be? Joe closed his eyes but felt something was wrong. Does it take so long for missionaries to reach the world barriers? They sure are slow. As time passed he felt something was wrong.
‘I should ask the problem…. Who should I ask? Huh… what was I thinking just now….’
Unaware of the danger Joe closed his eyes completely and was knocked unconscious.
Joe heard voices but they sounded muffled like from the other side of the wall. Some crying and someone talking?
‘Madam…. Its….boy! A lovely…. Boy!’
‘Why…. I… NOOO!’
In the noise Joe opened his eyes. Everything looked huge and colorless. What's colorless? What is color? This time he heard the female voice more clearly. The crying stopped. Was the crying coming from me?
The haggard looking female said, “The baby is a GIRL! Did you hear me? Her name is Joette!”
Joe’s thoughts were unclear. He thought, “I am a girl? Named Joette? Ahhh… This name sounds familiar so it should be what I am called."
Where none of them could see, in a luxurious toy room a boy dropped the toys and smiled as if after getting new toys the old ones were not desirable, “Another toy is here! I wonder if this one will be fun.”
As a child that could only babble his nannies could only understand that he said ‘toys’ and praised him.
“Ah! The young master spoke! Yes young master! Toys are the most fun.” The room was filled with joyful clapping of the nannies and laughter of a young kid.
