Prologue
Four figures stood amidst the dense forest, their faces obscured by the shadows of their hoods as the clock neared midnight.
“Eressia, we need to go. Someone’s tailing us,” pleaded Elsa, her voice laced with fear. Eressia remained rooted, straining to catch any faint sounds.
“I’m aware,” she replied, turning towards Elsa. “But escape is futile now.”
“What—” Elsa started, only to fall silent as a multiple figures jumped from the trees, encircling them. Elsa edged closer to Eressia.
“What’s our plan?” she whispered, her voice trembling.
“We can’t confront them,” Eressia whispered, scanning their surroundings.
“Silence!” snapped one of the men, his voice sharp as he brandished his sword, pressing its tip against Eressia’s neck.
“What’s our next move with them?” he asked of the man nearby.
“I believe we must end them, as per our orders.”
“I wish to speak with your king,” Eressia said cautiously, her mind racing with possibilities.
“Our king approaches, or rather, he is already here,” he remarked, glancing towards the approaching sound of hooves. “What shall we do with them, My Lord?”
“End their lives,” their king commanded in a resonant voice. The soldiers complied, raising their swords.
“NOOOOOOO!!!!” Eressia screamed, her cry echoing through the forest.
