Prologue

Darkness fell across the land as huge black clouds as the wind picked up slowly howling as it swirled and whistled in the air. Lightning struck, zigzagging across the sky as loud rumbles of thunder came in the distance but sounded louder. Raindrops fell from the sky making a pitter-patter sound as they hit the leaves of the trees and plants and ground. Bigger drops fell from the sky sounding rheumatic as they hit the ground; Soon it was torrential.

Electric cables came loose from poles and twirled and twisted in the air violently by the gale force winds sounding like a pack of wild wolves howling into the night. A few tree trunks came away from the ground and fell over hitting on top of nearby cars.

The calm sea came to life as a terrifying monster within minutes as its seventy-foot wave crashed over nearby beaches flooding and destroying houses and buildings.

A black jeep came to a stop at the edge of a high cliff in West England and a man in a black balaclava jumped out and pulled a blonde woman out with him, who was struggling to be freed. He took her over to the edge of the cliff.

“Say your last prayers,” he said in a deep voice.

“Please, let me go,” the woman begged. “I promise I won’t tell anyone.” Her tone was calm but inside was a nervous wreck.

“Sorry, can’t take that chance, bitch!”

She elbowed him hard in the side making him lose grip on her. She started to run but screamed out when he caught up with her. The woman closed her eyes as she was back hanging over the edge of the cliff.

Suddenly, a gunshot pierced through the silence of the night and hit the back of the man.

He screamed out and fell to the ground.

The woman opened her eyes and saw her attacker on the ground, dead, she sighed with relief. She looked up as her hero came walking towards her but stopped underneath a tree.

“Thank you so much,” she said. She looked closely and saw the silhouette of a man underneath the tree.

“You should run,” he said in a gruff voice.

“Why? The danger is over,” the woman asked.

“No, it’s not. You should run, now!” he shouted as his eyes glowed like an animal in the darkness.

She screamed with terror and began to run away.

The man fell to his hands and knees and began screaming out in excruciating pain as his body began changing shape into an animal’s.

The woman ran as fast as her legs could carry her until she began to feel the ache in her ribs but she was determined to get away. She glanced back over her shoulder and her eyes grew wide with sheer terror and horror as there was a wild animal chasing her at full speed.

The black beast caught up with her and pounced on top of her to the ground and began tearing her flesh apart with its razor-sharp teeth and claws. Ignoring her terrified screams as it mauled her to death and ate her flesh. When it was done, it stood up and walked away back into the darkness of the night as her blood ran towards the edge of the cliff and fell down into huge waves of the sea.
