That Girl

Ruby Morningstar was not like the other children growing up in the small Midwestern town of Bumblebee. Most of the children had bright futures ahead of them, but Ruby was different. She was descended from a long line of succubi, half-demon creatures who had a habit of seducing men and draining their energy. It was something she was always taught to keep hidden, so Ruby spent most of her time alone, keeping her true nature a secret from the people around her.

On the outside, Ruby appeared to be a normal teenage girl, but on the inside, she was anything but. She had a strange affinity for the dark arts, and had developed a passion for knowledge. She was constantly begging her parents to let her delve deeper into the mysteries of the occult, but they refused. They wanted her to keep her head down and live a normal life.

-Mom, you have to understand. I do not want a normal life. It is just not in my nature to stay at home, do the chores or something else like that. I just feel this is not what I am suppose to do.

-And what is your intuition telling you, Ruby?

-That I am born for something epic. Maybe I will change the world.

-I do not know. But the only thing I know for sure is that staying at home and obeying your rules is not for me.

-Enough being a rebel child. Now go to your room and calm down and began thinking realistically.

-Alright!-stomped with her foot the girl and added-This is not my LAST WORD!

One day, when she was sixteen, Ruby stumbled upon a mysterious book in her father’s library. It was called The Book of the Apocalypse, and it contained a prophecy about a powerful being that would come to bring about the end of days. The prophecy spoke of a being known as the Harbinger, who would be the herald of the apocalypse. Ruby was astonished to read that the Harbinger was a half-succubus, just like herself.

At first, Ruby was terrified by the prophecy. She didn’t want to be the Harbinger of the apocalypse. But as she read more of the book, she realized that the prophecy was a blessing. It was a way for her to use her powers for good, to help bring about a better future for everyone.

-I knew it. I knew it. I knew I was born for something extraordinary. But I did not know I have a superpower. Never used it. I have to learn how to.-promised herself Miss Morningstar and closed the book. She also wonders where her father has this particular book from.

-I am gonna ask him!

A couple of hours later:

Ruby intercepted her father in the hallway and showed him the mysterious book she took from the library:

-Dad, where do you have this book from?

-Why did you take it, honey? Put it back where it was immediately! This is not a read for you, OK?

-Stop beating around the bush, please. I know everything. I have browsed it and found out the truth about myself.

-The truth? What kind of truth are you talking about, Ruby?-asked her the father.

-That I am a half-demon and since my birth I was destined for great things.

-It is much more complex than you think, Ruby.

-You did not answear my question, dad. Where did you find this particular book?

-Well,…we have it for centuries. It is the book from your grand, grand ancestors. And it is delivered from generation to generation. Now put it back in its place in the library and do not touch it again. After you do this, I am telling you that you are grounded in your room for a whole week. No TV or chatting on your phone with your weird friends.

-But , dad…could not continue the poor Ruby.

-I have already made up my mind. Now go!!-almost yelled her father and went upstairs.

From that moment on, Ruby was determined to embrace her destiny. She began to study the occult with even more fervor, delving deeper and deeper into the mysteries of the dark arts. She learned to use her powers to help those in need, and she began to develop relationships with other creatures of the night. As time went on, she realized that she had found her true calling.

Eventually, Ruby had to leave her hometown and set out on a journey to fulfill her destiny. She traveled to distant lands and encountered creatures she had never seen before. And everywhere she went, she was able to use her powers to make a difference in people’s lives.

The next day, Ruby set out on an epic journey to find out more about her destiny. She traveled the world, exploring different cultures and learning about the hidden powers inside her. She made many new friends and allies, and slowly she began to understand her true purpose.

Along her journey, she encountered many creatures of the night, some dangerous, some friendly. She also learned about the Shadowlands, a realm of darkness and monsters, and the powerful demon lords who ruled over it. She even met a powerful wizard who offered to help her on her quest.

Ruby had to face the most horrible creature ever existed. It was ineveitable. This is part of her journey and she accepts the challenge. The monster is called Monstrosa and it is one of the few obstacles in front of the brave warrior girl. Somehow, deep inside of her, she was ready. The teen girl knew very well she was destined for such epic battles and that thought gave her an immense courage. Miss Morningstar did not have a sword or an armour, no, nothing like that. Her weapon was in her eyes. When she decides, she could make an object rise in the air only by looking at it. It was at the same time that simple but also so powerful for a girl. Adding the fact that Ruby was in a way cursed, she not only could make someone or something fly in the space around, but also make it hit the ground from a great height and in most of the cases it was fatal. Now, even Monstrosa did not have a chance to win in front of the teen girl’s power.

Only 14 and a half minutes later, the horrible creature, no matter how strong and massive it is, was smashed on the ground and its long, pimpled tongue was out of his big mouth. Ruby just could not watched it like that,turned her back and walked away.

As Ruby continued on her journey, she also began to uncover her true identity as a half-succubus demon. She discovered that she had the power to manipulate the desires of others, a power that could be used for both good and evil. She also found out about the ancient war between Heaven and Hell, and the role she would have to play in it.

One day, which was not like any other day, Ruby met once again the powerful wizard Ooli. He asked her something very important:

-Good meeting, Miss Morningstar. I am happy to see you. Are you ready for the most important day in your life?

-I am glad you asked me, Mr. Ooli. If I tell you that I feel a little frightened, it will be the understatement of the year. Honestly, I am not sure how to answer you, my wizard.

-It is okay, child. More important is you to be sure in yourself and solid as a rock in your thoughts and actions when you arrive at the gates of the apocalypse, because the whole mankind relies on you. Only you can change the history and open a brand new chapter.

-It is easier said than done, Mr. Ooli. Thank you for giving me courage.

-You welcome, dear. And remember-with your ability to manipulate the desires of others, you can and you must stop once and for all the ancient war between Heaven and Hell. You and nobody else is chosen to do that, even before your birth. This epic transformation stands on your shoulders and you must be more than ready and prepared.

-You give me so, so many responsibilities, Mr. Ooli. There are days where I do not feel honoured to do all that.-answered the chosen girl

-Is this a hint of a doubt I am sensing from you, Miss Morningstar?-asked the wizard.

-No, not at all. Please, do not get me wrong. I am still very young and I am still searching for myself.

-But you are also very clever and skilled and can conquer all in your way. I firmly believe in you and give you my blessing!

-I am so thankful for your strength and celestial power, dear wizard.

It was a dark and ominous day when the devil’s daughter, Ruby Morningstar, arrived at the gates of the apocalypse.
