Chapter 1 A New Age

The world we live in today is no simple world. So much has changed since we gained superhuman abilities 300 years ago. The world was now full of differences. After people began gaining power, those who were able to use magic came out of hiding.

This Began the recreation of clans, and once again people became separated. Among the different clans there are 4 main ones

Magic users

Shifters

Human

And Meta Human.

I am apart of the Meta humans, the group with super human abilities

And I am about to be told something that will change my life.

"You are going to marry Edward Link of the Shifters" my father said.

Name: Marcus Michaels

Rank: S

Power: boundary Manipulation

Clan: Meta Human

"Is this a joke" I said with a slight laugh.

Name: Raina Michaels

Rank: Ss

Power: Blood Control

Clan: Meta Human

His face was serious. "I'm not getting married" I told him. "You don't have a choice Raina" he told me" actually I do considering the fact that we aren't in the 19th century anymore" I said "you can't just force me to marry someone you want me to" I added.

"You don't have a choice" he said again. "Because of a certain someone" he said turning to my brother, then turned back to me. "Who offended the Shifters Clan Leader we don't have much of a choice" he told me. "So once again I'm responsible for cleaning up Jacksons messes" I said. "You'll be meeting Edward for lunch today" my father said. "Try not to mess it up" he told me "fuck off" I said before leaving his office.

This wasn't fair. I was 21 years old. I was an adult, yet here I was being forced into a marriage I didn't want because of my idiot brothers mistakes.

Ever since the war between clans this was the result. Fear. It was the Shifters who won that war with some of them having the ability to shift into powerful or mythical beasts. Because of that they were known as the most feared Clan on the planet.

"Miss Raina" Emma said stepping infront of me. "I'm supposed to make sure you meet Mr. Link without any problem" Emma said nervously.

Name: Emma Smith

Rank: C

Power: Mind Reading

Clan: Meta Human

She's hear to make sure I actually meet him. I thought. "Yes" she said "what have I told you about Reading my mind emma" I said with a glare. "Not to" she replied "exactly" I said as I walked past her.

I made my way outside where a car was already waiting. "Let's get this over with" I said as the driver opened the door for me to get I to the back of the car.

When it came to who ran the Meta Human Clan my family was on top. Where most meta's ranked between F and B Rank. Those in my family ranged from A to Ss. My father ran the Clan and either me or my brother would be leading it after him.

It didn't take long to arrive at the restaurant where I would be meeting Edward. As soon as I got out of the car I was greeted by cameras. How did they even find out this fast? I wondered as I walked past them into the restaurant.

It was empty except for some staff. A tall man with black hair and bright green eyes walked over to me. "You must be Raina" he said with a light smile.

Name: Edward Link

Rank: Ss

Power: Dragon Shifter

Clan: Shifter

"And i suppose your Edward" I replied. And he gave a slight nod. "Shall we sit" he said as he walked me over to a table and pulled out a chair. I sat down and he lightly pushed the chair in.

What a gentleman. I thought as he sat down across from me. "What is it exactly you expect from this marriage?" I asked as I took a sip of the wine that was already out on the table.

"All I need from you in an heir" he said causing me to almost spit out my drink. "Excuse me" I said as I set down the wine glass. "Among Shifters creating a powerful leader isn't easy considering you need someone who is also an S rank" he said "once my Clan has its heir you will have the choice to either divorce me or stay with me and raise our child" he said.

"Your nuts" I told him with a serious tone. "He gave me a laugh" I assumed you'd say that. He said. "But it's just how things are with shifters" he said. "So let me just make sure I understand this" I said "the only thing you want from me is a child because you and I are both SS ranks" I said to him. "Yes he said. "And once I give you this heir you so desperately need I can leave if I want to" I continued. "Yes" he said again.

This whole situation was absolutely insane. And the fact that I was even considering it made it even more so. But if I married him I would at least be able to get away from my idiotic family. But having a child..... if I really didn't want to stay it would definitely be better to have it quickly and leave.

But would I actually just be able to walk away from my own flesh and blood. How would I carry a child and not get attached to it. "Is there really no one else who can do this for you?" I asked him, as he just stared at me me waiting for an answer.

"Out of everyone I have seen you truly are the best candidate to give birth to my child" he told me honestly. I let out a sigh. The main reason Shifters needed strong women to give birth was because of the chance of them dying before or even during the birth.

"Fine" I said. "I'll give birth to your heir" I said in a serious tone.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
