Chapter 1

"I was running in the rain, wandering through the forest, the rustling of the leaves mingling with my steps and the smell of dampness. Finally, they decided to send me on a mission. The water droplets trickling down between my eyes, maintaining my vision focused straight ahead was frustrating, but compared to my rigorous training, it was nothing.

Since childhood, we're taught the value of completing our mission, yet unfortunately, most of us hide away in the villages of remote valleys each time.

As my inner monologue came to a conclusion, I spotted in the distance some bluish buildings dulled by the rain, I had finally arrived: Sakura Town. I continued my run, after all, it wasn't so strange to see someone running in the rain.

Most of the city's buildings are apartments; here, technology has evidently taken a leap forward. The skyscrapers are cubical and linear; with the rain, it's as if the city is sad. I climbed the stairs and rang the doorbell of the second floor of the second building in the city.

A familiar and sturdy silhouette appeared then - "Sir, you're soaked like a dog, come in and dry off." A smirk formed on my lips; Esteban was truly strict about the rules, one could even say he rode them hard.

He gestured for me to enter with a welcoming glance. "So, Kagi, are you ready to hear the details of the mission?"

He pushed up his glasses and clasped his hands, setting the atmosphere, peculiar with the rain and the semi-lit room by a bedside lamp, sending shivers down my spine. Instinctively, I responded with just a nod.

"Very well, Sakura Town is a prefecture linked to our village of Kram, so it's natural to help them and keep an eye on the situation.

The city has been besieged for months by the mafia who attack and plunder or even sell the civilians. As a ninja, your duty is to stop them while gathering information, and so you will have to integrate into a school, I've already enrolled you."

Kagi tilted his head as if he hadn't heard correctly. "Wait, are we talking about a ninja school?" Esteban chuckled for half a second and continued, "No, an elementary school where we learn to have a profession." Kagi didn't really know what that was, so he responded positively to all the questions asked.

It was almost 9 p.m., and training didn't end until midnight, so he just went to sleep to make the most of it, motionless, rolling his eyes to observe his room, wondering what it's like to be a hero.

Morning came.

My body snapped out of its trance, and I woke up so abruptly that my eyes bombarded me with dozens of colors from another dimension.

Damn, my alarm didn't go off, I rushed to a mirror to check myself and see if I was ready for school... I fixed my blond hair and looked at the dark circles under my green eyes, a sigh of fatigue escaped my lips as I hurried to the door with my bag. Just as I reached the doorstep, a disturbing sensation engulfed my heart and spread to my back.

Ninjutsu practitioners learn it to spy on the people they're supposed to eliminate. It's called extrasensory perception hmm...

How to describe it... closing my eyes, I see small white traces and shapes moving, as well as emotions that I perceive very little, but I know someone is in trouble. So, I jumped off the balcony while pressing the tiny device containing my suit. Immediately, a flashy yellow ninja costume covered me, and I was rather proud of my find, haha, even if Esteban found it in bad taste.

Arriving in the street, I saw a boy with black hair and glasses being mugged by a tall, thin punk-looking guy with a knife. My left leg pushed me forward, I braced myself on my right leg, and I hit him with all my strength with my foot, he just glided tss.

Arriving next to the young man,

I turned around and saw him lying there, frightened.

"My... my name is Luth," he stuttered.

His voice was rather trembling, having trouble expressing himself: my first fan.

I immediately asked him what he was doing here.

"I was going to school when this madman took me aside to attack me, but thank you for helping me," he smiled kindly.

Certainly because I was very hot and urgently needed to pee, I had to go to the alley opposite by pretending to need to disappear. I took off my suit and turned around after finishing my business.

He was right there in front of me!

".. did you see me pee?"

"Uh, yes."

I grabbed his throat with my arm.

"Don't reveal who I am. Where you saw me, and my actions."

So he replied, agitated,

"I am the son of a policeman; I do not betray covers."
