Leah
Cigarette smoke wafted up as the cherry illuminated the darkened room. Leah let her head fall back against the headboard, the smoke she inhaled escaped in a silent puff. Around her the sounds of soft, gentle breathing and bare flesh brushing against each other began to grate on her nerves, hence the smoking.
She took another drag from one of her favorite vices, her eyes rolling closed. Just as the last tendril of smoke curled deliciously into her lungs, she had the feeling of being observed. Pulled from her thoughts, she glanced to her side with heavy lidded eyes, her cigarette dangling from her lips. A pair of wide chocolate-brown eyes rimmed with dark onyx lashes peered down at her. She clicked her tongue, turning her head fully to him and exhaled the smoke she’d been keeping captive in her chest.
The cloud surrounded the man’s face and his eyes fluttered closed. She lifted her hand while he wasn’t looking and dragged a finger along the bridge of his nose, wanting to see his reaction. The smallest of intakes was the only sound as the tip of her finger caressed his heated flesh. Her eyebrow raised slightly, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “Well, color me intrigued...”she thought as she pulled her finger away. Though she couldn’t help but gently tap the tip of his nose.
The action must have pulled him from his trance because his head jerked back, and the flush on face began to deepen, spreading down his neck and into the confines of his crisp white shirt. “Boo...” she pouted to herself, “It should be a crime to look so innocent after an orgy.” Not that Leah actually enjoyed her time anyways. That’s when it clicked. This man must have the little ’protégé’ of the elite security group, Secura, Caleb had told her about. Something along the lines of “nothing but the best for my daughter” or some shit.
“Even bigger boo...” she sighed.
Pulling her half-ashed cigarette from her lips, she pressed the dimmed cherry into the tray on the stand next to her, snuffing out her fun. “You’re here to get me?” she asked politely, though she already knew the answer. She waited for the new guy to nod his affirmative, trying to tamp down that side of her while doing so.
She thought for a moment about her current state but just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to ruffle up the new guy’s feathers. It was almost too easy.
With deliberate movements, Leah pushed herself up fully in the king-sized bed she mostly occupied alone, though a few unmemorable bodies lay strewn about at the other end. As she came up fully the thin sheet she had draped over her body began to slide down, then fell completely once she pulled her arms overhead into a long, languid stretch. She groaned softly as her stiff muscles released, not caring that her chest was on display.
Well, mostly on display... The sheer bodysuit she wore did little to hide her slender yet toned frame. Nearly all of her creamy, white skin was visible, with only the most delicate bits scantly concealed by intricate lace designs.
Leah reached over, pulling herself to a kneeling position and flicked on the smaller lamp on the nightstand, keeping her eyes locked on her target. She watched as a flush once again crept over his features as he caught a glance of her on the bed. She let out a soft hum of approval before she could stop herself and at the noise, he gave a slight jolt. The man cleared his throat gently and turned around to give her some privacy.
Shoving down the darker parts that whispered in her brain, she got out of the bed and began dressing. As much as she wanted to keep pushing him, she decided work was more important. Her once precious recreational time hadn’t been as satisfactory as it used to be. Just like every other ’encounter’ Caleb had set up for her in the past few months, her pent-up energy was beginning to affect her. She’d have to get with him before she started to lose too much focus.
She had just finished lacing up her black leather Deluxe 70s, when her phone began to vibrate along the nightstand. She picked it up with practiced motions and answered curtly, “Leah.”
“Mija, baby, your father needs you to handle some things at the club.” the sweet, husky voice of my adoptive mother came through the receiver. “Evidently, some young pendejos have decided to take some liberties tonight. Security has them separated from the girls but...” she paused with a tsk, “Lo que se siembra, se cosecha.”
Leah could see her mother’s shoulder shrug in her mind’s eye as she relayed the family motto. “Sí, mamá,” Leah responded brightly as she tugged on her burgundy, cropped leather jacket. “I promise to take care of it.”
Her mother hummed in response and sent kisses through the phone in a flurry. This had Leah smiling as she returned them in kind and said her goodbyes.
Once she was finished with her call, she straightened her spine. “Come, Perrito,” she called out, stepping over the sleeping bodies as she made her way to the door. “We have a score to settle...” she smiled over her shoulder, a dangerous glint in her eye.
The rain crashed into the windshield of the Escalade, the wipers beating it back with quick swipes across the glass. A massive neon sign bearing the name ’Water Lily’ cast pale blue and white light into the vehicle, illuminating Leah’s face.
“The rain hasn’t kept our guests away, has it?” she murmured, though the twitch of a smirk that passed over her face suggested she already knew the answer.
“Never, Director.” Caleb’s steady, cool voice responded, a small smile playing with his lips as he glanced at her in the rearview mirror. Leah huffed a laugh at the older man, her tawny eyes dancing with mischief before her door was opened. An umbrella was already shielding her from the worst of the rain. “I’ll meet you inside, Director.” he bobbed his head in a bow as he spoke.
Leah declined to respond as she took the hand being offered to her, taking note of the lack of calluses she felt as the same young man from earlier helped her from the car. Before she could sneak a glance at him, he moved swiftly to stand behind her, closing the car door.
Choosing to put her curiosity momentarily to the side, Leah made her way towards the club’s entrance. Once under the covered entryway, the umbrella above her disappeared and suddenly the main entrance door was opened. Mystery man stood next to it; his head bowed as if in reverence as he held the door. “New.”, she thought, “But fast.”
She took the moment to look at him, though it was cursory at best. The most obvious thing she could discern on short notice was that the poor man was drenched. Her mouth opened before she had fully formed the thought and ordered, “Someone get him dry.” She raised a delicate chin in his direction before writing him off completely and pulling her phone out. The sound of hushed, worried words and murmured thanks followed her as she continued inside.
“Director Leah!” a bright, melodic voice called out. It was quickly followed by the sound of running. “You finally came!” they shouted excitedly.
No sooner had Leah looked up from her phone than she found herself being tackled by a gremlin. She rocked back on her heels trying to regain her balance with an ’oof’. Once she straightened herself out, she flicked them in the forehead. “Easy there, Ry. What if I hadn’t caught you?” she asked, an eyebrow raised. Ry chose to burrow in further rather than reply.
With a sigh, she squeezed the younger woman back, gently setting her back down once she had recharged her social battery enough. Leah ran her fingers through Rylan’s curly locks and watched as she practically melted at her touch. The girl had harbored a not-so-secret crush on Leah for the better part of the last five years. So, this was a common interaction she had when coming to Water Lily.
“I wish I had more time, Ry...” Leah smiled wryly, “but heads don’t bash themselves.”
At that, Rylan’s forest-green eyes darkened considerably. This only further increased Leah’s need for vengeance. Even more so when Ry spoke again, her voice trembling. “They threatened Becca with a knife...” she took a deep, shaky breath and continued. “Security caught them before they could do any serious damage, but I don’t think Becca will be working anytime soon.”
Leah placed a reassuring kiss on her young charge’s forehead. “Don’t worry your pretty little head, Ry.” she murmured. “I’ll take care of everything.” And with that she stormed her own castle, having already decided the offenders’ punishment. She sent a quick message to Caleb so he could gather what she needed.
This is going to be fun... A feral smile spread across her face at the thought.
