After two seasons of grief from losing her mother, Charlotte finally felt good enough to look forward to the spring, a spring that had so far brought so much for her to be thankful about: She had earned her Ph.D, she had gotten a good job, and she began to do her side business again as a clown-for-hire for kids birthday party. It was all good, and to top it off: She would spend a few weeks with her archaeologist dad in Europe, he was doing some excavation project there. But that trip became a nightmare for her when the archaeologist team became perfect means to unearth what had been buried for centuries. Something that should have remained buried. A demon lurking beneath the earth. A secret order of immortals. A man with his own dark past and origin. A powerful weapon that could tilt the balance of the battle between the good and the evil.
