Life is a bitch
It is a wide spread message that being a woman sucks. I am not sure this is true. Is our existence truly harder than men's? How much of the hardship we bring on ourselves? We are so different to our mothers, but albo deeply scarred by our childhoods that we all seek understanding in self help books, Instagram reels about toxic parents, and therapy of course. I personally omit the third option. As a young girl I was sent to therapy because of the depression which I know now was an effect of the anxiety which never really left my brain. I was only 15, but I have been told that basically my mother resents me for being successful. And now let me be clear, my sucess was mostly good grades and few won competitions. I was barely a child prodigy. I was top of my class in majority of subjects. Yes, I was capable. I was also operating under constant pressure from my parents. The message was clear : be the best, or there will be consequences.
