Summary

At twenty-three, Eva Miranda thought she had everything figured out. A fresh degree. A clear career path. A future waiting for her. Except the future never arrived. After months of rejection emails and failed interviews, Eva is one step away from giving up and returning to the retail job she swore she’d never need again—until an email changes everything. A job offer. From Reigns INC. Working for Roman J. Reigns isn’t just a job opportunity—it’s a miracle. Roman is a legend in the business world. A man whose touch turns struggling companies into empires overnight. Brilliant. Untouchable. Feared. Desired. And surrounded by rumors no one can quite prove. But Eva doesn’t care about rumors. She needs the job. The salary is unbelievable. The benefits are suspiciously generous. And the fact that she never even applied should probably concern her. But when fate knocks, who is she to refuse? What Eva doesn’t know is that Roman didn’t choose her because she was qualified. He chose her because she belongs to him. As the truth behind Roman’s power begins to unravel, Eva realizes the job offer wasn’t luck. It was a summons. And the secrets Roman has been keeping don’t just explain who he is. They explain who she is… and why he has been waiting for her all along

No ordinary boss

Eva's POV

Looking back, I should've known something wasn't right with the Reigns agency.

There were signs, I just didn't think to look for them at the time.

Getting the call to interview for a job I never applied for; that should've been my first clue. I was just so excited to finally get a call back that I never questioned how they got my name or phone number.

Being fresh out of college with no prior experience doesn't get you many interviews with big well know agencies.

My second clue should've been that the job was in Manhattan. Living out on Long Island, I never would've applied to the city. To me, the city was a place I visited a few times a year for a concert or to see the Christmas tree. Occasionally I'd let my friends convince me to go in for an overpriced night of drinking and dancing, otherwise I stayed out east.

I was never into taking subways or cabs everywhere. I owned a car! Why would I walk anywhere? Kids in the suburbs of Long Island walked or road a bike somewhere until they got their driver's license. Then our car was our ticket to freedom.

But when the call came, and Alyssa in HR told me the pay I couldn't turn it down. There's no way I'd make that kind of money anywhere else on the island with no experience.

The third, and most in my face clue? The fact that they set me up with an apartment. They paid the first six months rent, in a high rise apartment that overlooked central park. If that wasn't a red flag, the fact that it was in the same building as the CEO should've been.

It's not that I'm a fool or naive. I just needed a win. I kept telling myself that all my hard work, and sacrificing during college was paying off. Lady Luck was finally on my side.

In a way I think I was lucky.

Maybe I should let you decide.....
