Just one more day at college

It was just another day at college, but the excitement was palpable. The next day, we would present our theater play inspired by Bertolt Brecht. In the basement, there was a small theater with a capacity of up to 100 people, but there was also an area where the lights remained off, and the bathrooms and water fountains seemed abandoned.

My friend Luísa and I had a peculiar gift: we could feel and see strange things. During rehearsal, as we prepared, a sensation swept through the room, as if something or someone had passed between us and the other classmates. The chill was intense, even though the temperature in the space was neither too cold nor too warm. Concerned that I might be imagining things, I asked Luísa to confirm what she had felt. To my surprise, she had also noticed something.

She described seeing a woman in a veil, looking like someone from the 1970s or 80s, perhaps the founder of the college, Dulcina de Moraes. The atmosphere of the place always carried a strange energy, and we wondered: could that woman be a lost soul, someone who had died nearby and didn’t know how to move on? Or maybe she was an entity warning us about something that was about to happen, something that would affect us or someone close to us?

That experience remained shrouded in mystery. No one else knew what we had encountered, and the unknown left us intrigued. What really happened that day? The answer lay hidden in the shadows of the college basement.

Based on true events in 2020

The author has something to say: What do you think it was? Because for me it was really strange. Everyone was fine, but me and my friend felt a different atmosphere. This means something is there, and maybe this is why some rooms don't have their lights on.
