The beginning of the end

"Oh my gosh Caleb what are you doing?" I ask as I watch him rip his art to shreds. His head whips around and he looks at me with a look of complete dispare. "She’s gone Maddie" and those are the last word I here before Caleb collapses onto the ground sobbing sounding like a broken record.

I take my ‘emergency key’ and unlock his front door and walk up the stairs and swing open Caleb’s bedroom door with a dramatic flair and say " oh Caleb oh Caleb you wound me so, as you are running late." He turns over in bed and lets out groan "ughhhh go away mads Im dying." I cross his room and put the back of my hand on his forehead and say " well your not running a fever, so what’s up?" He finally looks me in the eye and the look of complete misery possesses him like a puppet.
"Caleb what happened?" I ask immediately concerned for the well being of my best friend. With tears beginning to well up in his eyes and for the first time in years, I see him cry as he says "she’s pregnant Maddie! I’m 15 what am I going to do?" I look at him with immediate bewilderment "who your mom, your ex girlfriend?" And the words that fall out of his mouth make the entire world start to spin.
