What is your opinion?

Gripping and Heartfelt

"Read up to chapter 8 Praise: I enjoyed how the story combines a high-stakes undercover mission with strong emotional depth. The choice to depict the "lethal Terran predator" as a traumatized human child is a brilliant hook. Your use of sensory details, especially the Pantera’s sense of smell and the rhythmic drumming used for comfort, makes the alien feel genuine. While the trafficking plot drew me in, I was promptly invested in the growing bond of trust between the peacekeepers and their Kit. The gradual reveal of Kira’s true nature through the peacekeepers' biological senses is inspiring. Your descriptions using scent (jasmine, soil, and copper) and sound (purring and rhythmic drumming) are very well done. Kira’s silence is also handled well, adding emotional weight to the story. The dialogue between Sho’ta and Z’shi feels natural for longtime partners, and the descriptive passages are vivid without being overly wordy. The tension between the mission goals and the moral imperative to save a child is also gripping. Critic: Adding more depth to the Rhéni guards or the trafficking ring's leadership could raise the stakes by exploring their specific motivations beyond just greed. Since the characters are choosing to stay in the cell for several chapters to uphold their mission, consider adding external pressures that threaten to expose them. For instance, a guard might become suspicious of why the "monster' suddenly appears calm, forcing the peacekeepers to act more aggressively to maintain the illusion. Providing a brief glimpse into Sho’ta or Z’shi’s past missions might help me understand why they are willing to risk their peacekeeper licenses for a single "kit." Overall: It’s a heartfelt exploration of empathy across species, supported by clear prose and great pacing. 43 chapters so far, obviously, you're busy writing, but I would welcome your insight on my story when you get the time. https://www.inkitt.com/stories/1622891"
