Never Known Peace

In a small town in China, on the outskirts of the CBD, lived a crime boss. He was extremely rich and ruthless.

His business, car-jacking. He had excellent theft planning. He only trusted five men. Two man did the hijacking. He only gave three rules: #1 Get the job done, #2 Don’t hurt the car and #3 Only work for me. The third one was important. The skills and knowledge gained working for him are never to shared elsewhere. They were his slaves til death. The two other members drove the car from a second location to the dept for revamp. The last member handled sales. Jobs weren’t easy. All 5 guys were equally compromised but the one who stood to gain the most was the crime boss.

But this story is not about him, this story starts at the carjackers. They also had a rule for themselves. #4 No one dies. Yes, they are they are thieves but they are not killers. One of the guys, Zen, has a family. His son and his daughter do not get along but he looks forward to having dinner with them every night.

“I would like us to move,” the young daughter, Clair suggests.

“Why?” Zen asks his daughter

“This place is not good for you, dad. It’s also not good for Jerry. He can be initiated into one of the many crime families at any moment,” Clair explains.

“I’m not leaving,” Jerry declares setting down his rice bowl and snapping hard on the table.

“He’s already started gambling and smoking. He’s only 13,” Claire calls out.

“My friends started when they they were ten,” Jerry points out.

“Where would you like us to move to?” Zen asks.

“The UK. America,” Clair says.

“There’s even worse crime there,” Zen points out

“No one there looks like us” Jerry adds

“No one there will know us. And we’ll be safe. Dad’s job is going to get him killed or worse, he could kill someone else. Murder is a sin,” Claire explains

“The church religion is getting to your head,” Jerry replies.

“It will never come to that. I’m good at what I do. Chakie and I are the best in the city,” Zen reassures.

“That’s why we need to go. You are proud that you’re the best robbers in the city. Jerry is proud that he’s only started smoking 3 years after the average. We are becoming lawless,” Claire exposes

“If you don’t want to move at least start coming to church with me,” Claire suggests

“Sure, we’ll come to church,” Zen speaks for Jerry

“Thank you. There’s a service tomorrow at 6pm. Please arrive on time,” Claire invites
