Abysmal

Somber clouds and heavy eyes.

Thunder storms mortalize.

Drink from the chalice in my hand,

Nevermore, I demand.

Instead I watch and I sow,

These decrepit flowers that grow,

And awake in silence,

Tempered violence.

Secrete ashes as a tomb of absence,

That never made sense in presence.

Valid and valuable,

Denied reliable.

But songs of doves cascade over glances,

So we believe in second chances.

Misty eyes say farewell,

Oh, the tales to tell.

You bring upon what you don’t leave behind,

And with that, keep in mind:

I will not dance beside your spotlight,

If my song is not playing too.

I will not fear tonight,

And I will not protect you.

If you choose to play that game,

Surely, you’ll come to understand.

I’m more to my fame,

And less to my name,

I’m feared greater than you planned.
