Through the Veil

Summary

The night air was thick with the scent of earth and rain, the whisper of the wind curling through the dense forest like a lover’s breath against her skin. She did not know this place, nor the time to which she belonged, but something deeper than memory, more primal than reason, called to her here. Him. A force unseen, yet undeniably felt, drew her forward, past the veil of what she once was and into the arms of what she was meant to be. Every glance he cast upon her unraveled another thread of her past, yet in his touch, she found a fire so consuming that the echoes of a life forgotten no longer seemed to matter. Could she surrender to the passion that burned between them? Or would the truth of who she had been drag her away from the only place she had ever felt whole?
