Summary

Unable to control the elements or shift into birds of prey, Sana Lightbourne is a scab on her noble family's legacy. They cast her out to marry Lord Rhyel, the cold, fearsome ruler of House Darcanos. If the northern tyrant doesn't kill her for being useless, whatever lurks within his northern shadows will. While the Alpha wolf of Darcanos craves a true mate, he doesn't need another meaningless betrothal, especially not to a daughter from the overzealous House Lightbourne. Meeting Sana in the clutches of a golem, Rhyel's plagued with an unusual yearning to protect the scrawny, malnourished woman. When Sana becomes the chosen soul of a powerful ancient moth, she may not be as ungifted as she or her family believes. As Sana and Rhyel's relationship blooms and her gifts awaken, they attract the attention of House Darcanos' rival, House Issian-igniting a centuries-old feud between the wolves, the chimera, and the wraiths living in the beyond eager to consume her soul.
