I smiled as he had a firm hold on me, as I leaned in and kissed him softly, and he kissed me back. Things got heated quickly as we were French kissing and his hands roaming my body as if he couldn’t get enough, like I was a piece of a delicious candy. This felt so dangerous and exposed, knowing we were in public and people could just easily find us having a make-out session. But honestly, I couldn’t care less. This man knows how to make me fall weak to the knees under his touch; I can’t get enough. As my hands were wrapped around his neck, I grabbed onto his hair with my fingers as we fought dominance in each other’s mouths.

“We…should…really stop for now and continue this at home.”

We stopped kissing as we still held each other and just stared, agreeing. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I think I could see a dark figure in the distance as my eyes got wide.

Concern instantly grew on Jacob’s face, “What’s the matter, sweetheart?”

I shook my head, not believing he just called me sweetheart for the first time, but responded, “I-I see someone standing in the distance watching us.”

“Whoever you are, show yourself now,” Jacob yelled as he let me go completely, turned around, and firmly stood to protect me.

Whoever it was didn’t say a word as the person slowly got closer and closer, and then I saw something shiny in his hands…Jesus, Lord, it’s a gun!

“Jacob,” I exclaimed, scared out of my mind as he saw the same thing.

“It’s okay, Gabriella, I’ll protect you,” he responded as he laid his hand on my arm for comfort.

Before we could comprehend what was truly happening or who it was….BANG, BANG! Seeing the speeding bullets coming towards us, Jacob protected me, but I instantly escaped his firm stance. I can’t let him get hurt or see him die! I jumped in front of Jacob so fast that the bullets hit below my belly button. I fell to the ground and collapsed, writhing in pain as I couldn’t move or scream.
