Summary

Nicholas Ackerman was the boy who made her believe in forever—charming, bold, and impossible to ignore. But just when things started to feel real, he shattered it all. Now he’s expecting a baby with someone else, even if his heart still lingers where he left it—with Vanessa. Then there was Colby Tucker. Brooding, soft-spoken, and unexpectedly tender. Their connection ran deep, but when emotions got too real, he pulled away, leaving her with a trail of almosts and unanswered questions. Vanessa swore she was done with love. Done chasing boys who didn’t know how to stay. Then came Jace Kensington—wealthy, sharp-tongued, and impossible to outwit. What started as a game of clever insults and heated competition turned into something neither of them expected. Jace, haunted by the tragic loss of his first love in a freak accident, had been sleepwalking through life—until Vanessa. With her, he feels something again. And she, for the first time in a long time, feels seen. Now, with summer stretching ahead and college on the horizon, Vanessa is choosing herself. But love isn’t finished with her yet. Because Nick is back—still magnetic, still full of what-ifs. Colby has returned too—quieter, but more certain. And Jace? He’s the surprise twist in her story—the one she never saw coming, but might be the most real of all.

Update/Changes

Okay, it’s decided. I’m reworking this part of the book. A lot of scenes from different chapters will be included in this rework. I’m also gonna tweak the ending of the last book and include that in here so everyone is on the same page with minimal confusion. I’m gonna do this right this time and give you guys that beautiful epilogue you’ve all patiently waited for. The drama in this rewrite is going to change quite a bit as well. So, prepare for that aspect. Friendships may fall apart!

I think I’ll keep Sabrina because I had a cute little plan for her, but I don’t think I’m keeping Nessa working with Landon’s mom. I feel like her entire goal has been Eldenford and messing with it felt stupid in the first place. I may have her do something different for his mom, though, but as a one off.

I’m not sure I’ll keep doing POVs. While they were fun, I feel like that added to my confusion and overall frustration with the story. So, it might be back to just Nessa’s POV with a couple different ones after the main story is over.

Thank you all for bearing with me through this! I promise this is the only time I’ll be rewriting this and I think everyone will be happy for it in the end.
