Prologue
LUCA
It was an extremely hot day. People should have been at home, sipping refreshing drinks—but instead, they were here. At the museum.
Located in the heart of Paris, this wasn’t just any museum. It was said to be made entirely of glass—pure, reflective, flawless. And when you stood before it, you wouldn’t see anyone else. Just yourself.
That’s exactly what was happening to me right now.
We were invited to a private seminar here, but instead of sipping champagne inside, we were standing outside, trying to figure out how the hell to get in.
"I’ve never stared at a mirror this long in my life," muttered Dario—my best friend and the second most demanded detective in the country.
Today was supposed to be a relaxing day. But instead, we were solving mysteries outside a building we hadn’t even entered.
"Hey, you know why it’s made of glass?" Dario continued. "There’s a purpose behind it, I swear."
His tongue worked faster than his brain and hands combined.
I didn’t bother replying. I pressed my palm against the glass. There has to be some kind of touch sensor...
A faint beep echoed. Suddenly, the glass darkened—turning a deep brown—and a digital interface appeared. Arrows. Directions. And at the bottom... a button labeled OPEN.
Bingo.
"Told you," Dario said smugly. "If I weren’t here, you’d still be kissing that wall."
I shot him a side-eye and walked in without a word.
We stepped onto the floor—and that’s when shit started to get real.
