A Handful of Sand

In the midst of The Loam desert, a lady stood upon a sandhill staring down into the rest of the desert. She was desperate to find the Palm Oasis, she was in search of a place to find shelter and an emergency room for her little three year old daughter who was coughing and crying from all the sand blowing in circles around them. As the lady kept walking her bare feet where touching the hot sand giving her more pain from carrying her little daughter after three hours. Her arms were getting sore and her feet were getting all dirty from the sand, as she kept trying to calm her daughter from crying, sand was getting in her mouth, and she could taste the bitter taste of the sand. The more they walked, the more her daughter cried. The more she walked, the more tired she was getting "Please stop crying" she pleaded tiredly. Her daughter stopped crying and stared at her mother's carnelian eyes, the same color as hers . Out of nowhere the sand froze in its place and the lady stared at her surrounding with a surprised look, she noticed that all of the blowing sand had frozen in midair. Her daughter started giggling and a big smile showed on her face, and then the sand they were standing on lifted them up and started moving towards the oasis. "What?" The lady said in awe, then her daughter grabbed some sand and yellow glowing light started shining around her hands. When she opened her hands the sand had turned into a small shaped heart, and she placed it on her mom's hands so she could take it. While holding the small heart she smiled, tears where rolling down her cheeks and she hugged her daughter dearly. She looked in front of her, and she saw that they were now in their destination. The Palm Oasis was now three steps away from them.
