Hello, friends!

Welcome to my new story. This one is extra special β€” set entirely in Kerala, filled with our customs, beliefs, and quirks. Other states may call us Mallu, but here’s a peek into the soul who we really are.

Are you ready to dive into a completely Mallu story?

Let’s begin...

~~

β€œWhat’s your name?” he asked.

β€œP-Please… don’t marry me,” she stammered, trembling.

β€œI’m just asking your name,” his deep voice rolled across the room like thunder.

She stood frozen, her body visibly shivering. Her eyes were wide, her teeth chattering, and her voice caught in her throat.

β€œMmm…”

β€œMmm…”

β€œName?” he repeated with raised brows.

β€œM…y… na…me?”

β€œYes. You forgot your name?” he teased.

β€œNo, not like that. It’s… I’m…”

He waited patiently, arms crossed.

β€œI’m… GUNDUMULAKU,” she blurted.

Silence.

His lips parted. A second passed. And thenβ€”he burst out laughing.

β€œWHAT? Seriously? GUNDUMULAKU?! Is that your real name?”

She nodded robotically, her face comic and blank, like a character out of a cartoon.

He lost it.

He slumped onto the nearest sofa, laughing uncontrollably. His stomach hurt, his eyes filled with tears.

In thirty years of life, Sidhanth Varma had never laughed like this.

Looking at her utterly clueless expression only made him laugh harder. He finally caught his breath and wiped his tears.

β€œOkay okay… Hello, Gundumulaku! I’m Sidhanth Varma,” he said with mock politeness.

β€œWHAT!?”

β€œI just addressed you by your name.”

β€œWhat…!”

β€œYou said your name is Gundumulaku. Is there a problem?”

β€œYes!” she nearly shouted.

β€œHmm?”

β€œMy name is Niveditha Sharma, not Gundumulaku!”

β€œBut you just said—”

β€œSTOP. Forget it. Just call me Niveditha.”

He smiled. β€œAlright, let’s talk about the other thing you said…”

She blinked.

β€œYou don’t want to marry me?”

β€œYES,” she said boldly.

β€œWhy? Do you like someone else?”

β€œNo!”

β€œThen…?”

β€œI’m not suitable for you,” she said, avoiding his gaze. β€œI’m a chubby girl. I’m not the kind of woman you should marry. You’re a good man… You deserve the best.”

A pause.

β€œOh… so you like me, but don’t want to marry me?” he said, grinning.

She nodded, almost sheepishly.

β€œThen hear me loud and clear,” he said, standing up. β€œYou are my destiny, my future, my wife. You were born to marry me. So let’s get married.”

β€œWHAT!?”

β€œI think you should consult an ENT doctor.”

β€œWHAT?”

β€œI said, you seem to be having hearing issues.”

β€œWhat the hell…”

β€œI’m just stating facts.”

β€œBYE! Let’s NOT meet at our engagement!” she snapped.

He winked. β€œAww, but we will. See you there.”

As he turned to leave, she stood speechless.

β€œWhat the hell is happening around me?” she muttered.

β€œSIMPLE,” he said from the door. β€œYou just met your future. Now go draw a picture of my handsome face in your heart.”

β€œWHAT?!”

β€œI insist. And pleaseβ€”get that ENT appointment fast!”

β€œYOUUUU!”

β€œNot β€˜you’—just call me Sidhanth,” he laughed. β€œOr give me a nickname, if you like. But remember, I’ll always call you Gundumulaku.”

He disappeared, still chuckling.
