“You’ve been quiet all evening,” she murmured.
“So have you.”
She turned slowly.
There was something in her eyes — not fear, not hesitation.
He stepped forward. “Tell me to stop if it’s too much.”
“I won’t,” she said, voice steady. “Not tonight.”
That was all it took.
He crossed the room in three strides, caught her face in both hands, and kissed her like he’d been starving.
Not just hungry — deprived.
His mouth was fire, his breath harsh against her cheek as he pressed her back until the wall caught her spine. Her fingers gripped his shirt, knuckles whitening.
“You make me forget how to breathe,” he rasped.
“Then don’t,” she whispered against his lips. “Drown with me.”
His hands roamed down the curve of her back, slipping beneath the silk that barely clung to her skin. She gasped as the fabric fell away, puddling at her feet. Her skin glowed in the dim light, bare and vulnerable, yet strong.
“Still so soft,” he murmured, trailing kisses down her collarbone. “Still mine.”
“No.” She pulled his shirt over his head. “Not yours.
