A Star Among the Moon

This story begins with my parents: Evindal and Elanor. They met on the festival held during the Blue Moon several years before my birth. It was love at first sight. They spent some months after their meeting courting. About a year after they met, they were married. My older sister, Calypso, was born a year later.

Skip forward eleven years, and then my twin sister and I were born. My sister was named Astra. I was named Asteria. Our parents loved us dearly. They cared for us just like any other parents would. That is, until I started doing strange things.

The first time was shortly after my second birthday. I started having dreams, nightmares really, about things that would later come true. Though I couldn’t speak so well yet, my dreams scared my parents.

By the time I was three, if someone touched me, I would get visions. I’d see their past, present, and future. According to anyone who came into contact with me, I looked like I was possessed or something. My parents started hurting me.

By the time I was four, my parents were tired of me. My visions got worse. I started avoiding family members that I knew were going to die soon. No one could touch me anymore without triggering a vision. My parents called me Freak.

When I turned five, my baby brother, Arlen, was born. The day after he entered this world, our parents left us. They kicked me one last time before abandoning us. Not that I care, of course. They hurt me. I don’t love them. Not anymore.
