The world had changed.

Everyone knew it, but few cared about it. After all, when you gain superpowers, why would you care how it happened? In this New Age, over 80% of the human population had developed some sort of superpower, commonly called a quirk. Some could move things with their mind, others could create, or manipulate the elements to suit their needs, and some manifested their quirk differently, with their powers changing how they look, and act, while giving them abilities others would never have, as well as weaknesses.

However, not everyone was lucky enough to be born with such exceptional powers, most commonly called, ‘Quirks’.

Those who weren’t born with a Quirk, were dubbed…’Quirkless’. Those who did have Quirks, and powerful ones, took up the mantle which had once been considered fiction…These extraordinary people, became ‘Hero’s’, fighting against those who used their Quirks for evil, to harm, manipulate, and take advantage of those who could not defend themselves.

These Hero’s fought Villains, to protect the everyday life of the ordinary citizens they had pledged to protect. However, one day, the statues quo of this so-called ‘peaceful’ society, would be destroyed, by a young child, who happened to be born…

If someone had asked Izuku Midoriya what he desired to be when he was a child, he would have responded without fail:

“A Hero.”

Fate, however, had different plans for him, because on his fourth birthday, he was diagnosed Quirkless

“I’m sorry, Sir, but it simply isn’t possible. Your son will never manifest a Quirk.”

Those words, shattered the young boy. He sat there, in the office, his eyes, which had just moments before, had been shining so brightly with hope, now they were dull, and lifeless. His smile now fixed in place, unable to be moved, despite the utter emptiness the child now felt.

“Are…are you sure, Doctor Isinagi?” Were the words of a young, 20 something year old man, Hisashi Midoriya, Father of Izuku Midoriya. The doctor, only nodded, a bored look on his face, despite the fact he had just shattered the hopes and dreams of a young child. He brought n image up on a screen in the office, an X-ray picture of a foot, and proceeded to tap it.

“Your son here has two joints in his pinky toe, while everyone else has only one joint in it. It’s human evolution, evolving to no longer need unnecessary parts of the body. And, because your son has two joints, and not one, means that he his part of waning percentage of Quirkless people in our society.

Hizashi looked horrified by the news, and barely manage to bow his head, and mutter an insincere, “Thank you Doctor.” Before grabbing Izuku’s arm, pulling him to his feet, and dragging him from the office, and out of the building. When they reached the car, he all but threw him in it, a snarl on his face as he growled: “Get in there, you worthless shit!”

Izuku yelped as he was thrown into the car, a hurt look on his face, and tears beginning to form in his eyes, as he look up at his mother. “D-dad-”

*SMACK!*

“I AM NOT YOUR FATHER, YOU LITTLE SHIT!” Hizashi cried out in fury, before slamming the car door shut, stomping to the driver door, wrenching it open, and climbing in side. He started the car, tightening his grip on the steering wheel in annoyance when it didn’t start immediately. Izuku just sat in the back seat, his eyes wide with hurt, and shock, cradling the red handprint on his cheek, as he sniffled quietly.

Hizashi glared at the road as he pulled out of the parking lot, and began driving back to where he and Izuku had been living for the past four years, since Izuku’s mother, Inko Midoriya, had died in childbirth. In that time, Hizashi had treated Izuku neutrally, not actively abusing him, but also not really taking care of him, other than making sure he was fed, clothed, and had a place to sleep.

In other words, Hisashi Midoriya only kept Izuku with him, out of the hope that he would gain a good quirk. However, even a weak quirk would have been preferable then him being Quirkless, and now Hizashi was enraged at the boy, for not getting a Quirk, and for mooching off him for the past four years.

But now? Now that Hisashi had learned that the boy he'd been taking care of years, was completely WORTHLESS?! Hisashi felt a boiling rage build up in him. 'I'll would teach the brat,' he swore silently, 'that he should had never existed.'

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
