He took everything

Rain washed the scent of blood from the earth, but Lilah would never forget it. Even now, five years later, she could still smell the iron tang in her dreams. Her mother’s last howl. Her father’s shattered command. The rise of the Alaric bloodline, the usurpers who claimed dominance over her shattered pack.

Now she was nothing more than an omega in their house. A servant. A ghost in corridors where her ancestors once ruled. And today, they were sending her into the human world alone to find him.

“Find my brother,” a bored Princess Mira had said, her lips curling like the words tasted sour. “Drag his royal ass back here before my father gets wind of his little vacation.”

A prince. A hybrid. A threat.

Half-witch, half-werewolf, and wholly untouchable. Ronan Alaric, firstborn of the High Alpha, had disappeared three months ago. Rumor had it he’d grown bored of werewolf politics and found amusement among humans. What kind of monster abandoned his duty when his people teetered on the edge of war?

But she couldn’t refuse. Not with the collar still metaphorically tight around her neck. She boarded the bus to Blackmere Academy with nothing but a backpack and hatred wrapped tightly around her heart.

The boarding school was too clean, too quiet. Humans bustled about, unaware of the storm that walked among them. Wards crackled faintly at the gates, evidence of ancient magic that kept humans blissfully ignorant.

She sniffed the air as she passed the quad.

And stopped cold.

The scent hit her like lightning. Smoldering cedarwood, dark spice, something wild and ancient. Her wolf surged forward, clawing at her skin. Her knees buckled. Her breath stuttered.

Mate.

No. No. No.

She turned, heart hammering, and there he was.

Sitting on the stone edge of a fountain like a bored god, dressed in a black shirt that clung to him like sin, Ronan Alaric barely looked up. A strand of dark hair fell into his eyes, and when he finally met her gaze, his smirk faded.

Something passed between them. Primal. Dangerous.

But he didn’t seem to recognize it.

He doesn’t feel it.

“I don’t have time for this,” she muttered and fled into the maze of hedges and buildings.

Yet no matter how hard she tried to escape him, the pull was irresistible.

She didn't mean to end up on the rooftop of the library that night, heart trembling as she watched storm clouds swirl above the distant hills.

“Are you always this graceful sneaking around human schools?”

His voice coiled around her like silk. She turned, eyes narrowing. “Didn’t take you for a coward, Your Highness. Running from your kingdom like a spoiled child.”

His lips twitched. “Didn’t take you for Mira's bitch. But then, the world surprises us both.”

The tension between them burned like wildfire. He stalked closer, slow and deliberate.

“I know what you are,” she said, voice barely a whisper.

“Do you?” His voice dipped. “Do you?”

When his hand touched her face, gentle as moonlight, her knees gave out. His mouth found hers a moment later, hot and consuming.

Everything blurred. The wind. The night. The ache she didn’t understand until he kissed down her neck and she clutched at him, breathless.

He carried her inside, up to a room that must’ve been his. The world ceased to exist, and for one impossibly perfect moment, she didn’t care who he was or that his family took away hers.

She was no longer the broken daughter of a fallen alpha.

She was just his.

He took the last thing she had left to give from her. Her wanton, shameless body craved his touch too much to stop him.

"Fuck you. I don't want this," she whimpered, moments after his dick tore through her virginity.

"Tell that to your little pussy clinging to my dick, sweet cheeks," he said with a snide, victorious smirk.

Her limbs wrapped around him without consent. Her lips sought out his hungrily. He happily obliged, leaving boundless sparks in the wake of his touch.

"I hate you," she insisted as her mind clouded with pleasure and shame.

They killed her family. Claimed her birth right. She was an alpha without a pack. One his family stole from hers.

Her mind taunted her with this reminder, but the sinful pleasure would not abate as he pumped his dick into her.

"And they said I'd never fuck you," he returned with a sadistic chuckle. "Hate me all you want. That will make the fuck that much more fun."

He laughed again, then picked up speed. Unable to resist the mate bond, she buried the shame and embarrassment by embracing the pleasure. Embracing him.

Neither of them would come out unscathed. What would he do when he found out his fated Luna was a lowly omega?
