A promise of Wildflowers

Summary

War steals many things, sight, silence, and sometimes the person you used to be. When Margaret Ellery’s husband volunteers for the front, she turns their glasshouse into a convalescent garden for wounded soldiers. Among them is Captain Thomas Avery, a once-brilliant pilot whose world has gone dark after the crash that cost him his sight. At first, he’s cruel. Angry. Impossible. The other nurses fear him but Margaret stays. She describes the colors he can no longer see; he teaches her to listen for beauty she’s forgotten. In the hush between their voices, something forbidden takes root. As the garden grows wild around them, so does their desire. And when the war sends her husband home again, Margaret must decide which promise to keep—the one she made in the church, or the one that bloomed in secret under glass.

Preface

My stories often walk the line between beauty and ache. They touch on grief, survival, trauma, and the quiet ways people find themselves again. Some chapters may be heavy; others may rest soft and could be too slow.

Not every reader will love every character here—and that’s all right. They’re flawed, sometimes unlikeable, often human. If you prefer something lighter or more romantic, there are plenty of other wonderful stories waiting for you.

Language in this book is deliberate. I don’t curse often, but when I do, it’s because the moment demands honesty. You’ll also find mature themes and raw emotions—never for shock, always for truth. (Racism, domestic violence, sex) if these topics make you uncomfortable I highly recommend you read anything else! I love touching on these topics because it makes us HUMAN! its real and its out there. If my stories bore you, then that means my story is just NOT for you.

I also always say, please don’t plagiarize my work. It is copyrighted by me and I will take legal actions.

All I ask is for respectful comments please!

If something in these pages moves you—or unsettles you—I’d love to hear it. Your thoughts matter. Stories live longer when they’re talked about and i also love to engage with my readers <3
