I really like how you set up the story by first showing the set of rules the players are to follow!

Really interesting way to introduce the world! The rules immediately make me curious about what kind of games the characters are going to get themselves into, especially with life being one of the possible wagers

This is a cool way to introduce the world because the rules immediately tell us what kind of place Planet Equinox is. The idea that literally any conflict has to be settled through a Game—and that anything, even life, can be wagered—opens the door for a lot of clever, dangerous situations.

What caught us most is the tension between the First and Fourth Commandments: murder is forbidden, but someone can apparently wager their life in a Game. That already has us wondering how people exploit the rules without technically breaking them.

It reads more like a worldbuilding primer than a chapter, but for a setting built around rules, loopholes, and Gamemasters, it does its job well.

How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
