A Reporter’s Mission
Cooper Chambers stood in front of the imposing facade of Traverse City Hall, eyes narrowed in determination. He had a mission – single-handedly uncover the dark secrets that lurked beneath the surface of the city. He was afraid of what he might find, but driven by an irresistible curiosity to know the truth, no matter the cost.
He took a deep breath and forced himself to focus, squaring his shoulders and making his way through the main entrance. He was soon directed to the office of the Mayor, who is surprisingly cooperative and willing to answer his questions.
“Ah, Mr. Chambers, I trust you have heard about some of the strange occurrences in our city as of late? Unusual sightings and disappearances that defy explanation?” the Mayor began.
“I have, sir,” Cooper replied. “That’s what I’ve come to investigate.”
The Mayor nodded slowly and began to explain further. He told Cooper of a mysterious, metaphysical force that seemed to be taking over the city and threatening those within it. Cooper was overwhelmed, but determined to get to the bottom of this.
