Summary

Centuries after the cursed events of Resurrection, the world is but a stitched-up corpse. You think you know peace, young tear? You only know the settling of dust. The desperate fool who forced this dying earth to live did not heal it. He scarred it. He tore the void open, and from that bleeding wound, a shadowed Queen built her kingdom of ash. But the dark is a patient thing, you see? It does not die. It only waits in the dirt. Now, a new lamb steps into the filth. A crippled hunter, drenched in mud, named K'vaelen. He reaches into the rotting soil and pulls out the Black Flame, clutching the unholy fire to his breast. He thinks it a gift. A weapon to burn the Queen’s brutality. Oh, the beautiful, tragic ignorance of mortals...He does not know he has invited a parasite. The very same agonizing rot that took another a lifetime of torment to cut out.The wheel turns. While Magot, the weary hunter cursed with ageless flesh, sleeps in a garden named Twain Twilights. He sleeps, thinking the consequences are none, believing he saved reality. Ooh, my... what a mindless tragedy. The day is coming when the man who broke the curse and the boy consumed by it will cross blades—or stand together against the crossed blades of the world. Go on, then. Take up the flame. Lose your mind. The ashes have settled, but your torment is just beginning......I'm afraid.
