Prologue
Assalamualaikum
Hey guys
So this my next story. I hope you will like it.
_____________
He was running and running, yet there was nothing-only emptiness stretching endlessly before him. He stopped, breathless, his chest rising and falling violently as he looked around in desperation. The fear that gripped his heart was merciless, tightening with every passing second.
The fear of losing her.
The fear of something happening to his innocent doll.
The fear of seeing her broken, shattered beyond repair.
He screamed her name with all the strength he had left, but his voice dissolved into the silence. There was no answer. She wasn't there. Panic clawed at him as he ran again, faster this time, his vision blurring with unshed tears.
And then his own words came back to haunt him-sharp, cruel, unforgiving.
"You are just an unwanted burden on me. You never let me be happy. You always keep your eyes on my happiness! You are nothing but a curse who swallowed my happiness, my peace. I hate you! I hate you!"
He could still see her-standing there, trembling, sobbing silently as his words pierced her fragile heart. But he had been too consumed by his anger, too blinded to see her pain.
"I don't know when I will finally be free from you," he had said before walking away, leaving that innocent girl behind in pieces.
The weight of those memories crushed him. His steps faltered, his legs gave up, and he fell forward, hitting the ground hard. He didn't try to stand. He didn't have the strength to. Instead, he lowered his head to the earth, sinking into sujood, his tears soaking the ground beneath him.
"Allah... please keep her safe," he pleaded brokenly. "I was wrong-so wrong-to think of her as a burden. No... she is the ray of light in the darkness of my life. Please, don't let anything happen to her. She is too innocent for this."
His voice trembled as the truth finally escaped his heart.
"I denied the reality for so long, but today... today I accept her as my wife. Ya Allah, please protect my wife. Please keep her safe."
After years of rejection and cruelty, he finally accepted her. Not out of obligation-but from the depths of his shattered soul. He begged as a husband, pleaded as a man drowning in guilt and fear.
But a terrifying thought pierced his heart.
What if it was too late now?
What if she was already tired-tired of waiting, tired of loving, tired of enduring his coldness?
And what if, this time, even his prayers couldn't bring her back?
