THE PREMONITION

1 January,2022

It was 2 in the morning when Amy woke up from the sound of rain and the heavy thundering outside. As she came downstairs looking for her water bottle she saw her husband Luca Jones sitting on couch reading a newspaper.Amy sat beside him rubbing her eyes.

Amy:"Why are you not asleep yet?"

Luca:"I could ask you the same question."

Amy:"I was just wondering about something."

Luca:"What is it?"

Amy sighed rubbing her temples,"I was reading a book and then......I read a line."

Luca:"What line?"

Amy:"Do you know that the KILLER got KILLED before he KILLED?"

Luca ignored her question and kept reading the newspaper.

Amy:" You didn't answer my question."

Luca:"Yes the killer got killed but it wasn't by the victim."

Amy:"What do you mean?"

Luca:"Go to sleep."

And just like that Luca went in his room leaving Amy alone with her thoughts.

At the police station

Amy:"Is there really nothing you can do about it?"

Officer James :"I've tried everything I could. We have no choice but to close this case."

Amy:"But I want justice for my father."

Officer James:"You need to understand,Amy.Your father committed suicide. He was NOT murdered."

Amy:"This is a lie."

3 January,2022

Luca was adjusting his cufflinks when Amy came to him.

Amy:"Good morning."

Luca:"What is good about this morning?"

Amy:"I was just greeting you."

Luca glared at her with such intensity that could kill someone,"I'm already in a bad mood so don't bother with these fake greetings.I am heading for the office."

Luca picked his briefcase and headed towards door but as he reached the door he stopped for a second.

Luca:"Dont forget to take your medicine again."

And just like that Luca left leaving Amy confused whether he cared for her or loathed her."

At 7 pm Luca reached home covered in blood but his face still wore a mask of indifference.

Amy:"Whom did you fought with this time?"

Luca:"Don't worry it's not my blood."

Luca changed his clothes and went in study room and wrote the conversation he had with Amy in his diary. It was a habit of his.
