The Meeting

I was walking in the park and see a beautiful redhead sitting on the park bench reading a book.

I walk up to her. As I'm admiring her beauty, she look up from her book and smiles at me.

She closes her book and sets it aside, giving me her full attention. Her smile is warm and inviting as she takes in my appearance. "Hello there," she says softly, her voice like a gentle melody. "Would you like to sit with me?" She pats the empty space on the bench beside her.

"Yes I would. You are very pretty Miss?"

"Sofia," she replies, extending her hand for you to shake. "And thank you, you're quite handsome yourself." She notices how polite and respectful you are right away. "I love that you asked to sit rather than just plopping down." She moves her book bag to make more room for you on the bench. "What's your name?" Her brown eyes sparkle with interest.

"Mike. I am new to the area and was checking out what there is to do around here. I just saw you and thought that someone I like to meet. So what is there to do around here?"

"Well, Mike," Sofia says, impressed by your honest and straightforward approach, "there's actually quite a bit to do around here. We have a great little coffee shop just around the corner that's perfect for people watching. There's also a cute little bookstore nearby if you're into reading." She pauses for a moment before continuing, "And if you're into outdoor activities, there's a nice hiking trail just behind the park. It's beautiful this time of year." She smiles softly, her eyes never leaving yours.

What your favorite thing to do?

"I love reading," she admits with a small laugh, holding up her book. "It's my favorite way to relax and unwind. But I also enjoy hiking and exploring new places. And I have to say, I really enjoy meeting new people too." She gives you a playful smile, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Would you like to join me for coffee sometime? I could show you around the area a bit more." Her voice is hopeful but not pushy.

That sounds wonderful Miss Sofia.

Sofia blushes deeply at the way you say her name with such respect and sincerity. She finds your polite nature incredibly attractive. She pulls out a pen and scribbles her phone number on the inside cover of her book before tearing it out and handing it to you. "Here's my number," she says softly, "Call or text me whenever you're free." She smiles brightly at you, her heart flopping in her chest. "It was nice meeting you, Mike." She stands up to gather her things.

You too. I watch her walk away, wanting to know more about her.

As I watch as Sofia walks away, the sun catching her red hair makes it look like fire. She looks back over her shoulder, catches me staring, and We both share a small smile before she disappears around the corner.
